Additional Information

Trail Breaker Kennel, a family business that started operations in 1976, is among the most enduring kennels in Alaska. The late Susan Butcher, a four-time Iditarod winner, and her spouse David Monson, a Yukon Quest victor, set up this kennel in Eureka, Alaska.

Visitors have the chance to explore our historical kennel, interact with our mushers and sled dogs, and gain insights into the dog sledding sport. The kennel, situated just 10 minutes away from the city center, serves as an easily reachable gateway to the Alaskan wilderness.

Fun and Unique - It was a really cool experience. The tour lady was very friendly and attentive. The dogs were really friendly as well. The only downfall was that when I booked I do not recall seeing anywhere that if the snow on the ground was not enough, that we would not be able to ride the sled. Instead we rode a gas powered four wheeler and dogs helped pulled. The dogs listen very well to all the instructor's commands. Overall, it was a unique experience. I would use this company again except I would call first to make sure I am able to ride the actual sled.
