- Gangaramaya (Vihara) Buddhist Temple - Gangaramaya is one of the oldest Buddhist temples in Colombo, started by the famous scholar monk Hikkaduwe Sri Sumangala Nayaka Thera in the late 19th Century.
After the Venerable Sri Sumangala, his chief pupil Devundera Sri Jinaratana Nayake Thera took on the administration of the temple. It was he who laid the foundation to convert the little temple to an institute of international reckoning.
The next chief incumbent was the Ven. Devundara Keerthi Sri Sumangala Jinaratana Vacissara Thera, the teacher of the Ven. Galboda Gnanissara, who worked to make the Gangaramaya what it is today: much more than a temple in the conventional term, but a place of worship, a seat of learning and a cultural centre.

Colombo journey - Exploring Colombo with Kavithan as our driver and guide was a true delight. His blend of
professionalism, politeness, humor, and profound knowledge made our experience
memorable. Beyond Colombo, we spent an additional 4 days with Kavi, uncovering the
scenic beauty of Sri Lanka. Kavi's expertise in showcasing remarkable sights and natural

Scam - Terrible scam. Booked through Viator. The tour was 35usd and then I got a message I had to pay an additional 35usd just to be picked up. This was a hadden cost and not mentioned clearly in the description. I did not agree and they just told me to cancel the tour without refund and message Viator (the didn't help me either). Upon telling them my honest opinion they freaked out and started calling me. No tour and no money. Aboslutely terrible. Do not book with them or be prepared for hidden costs. I would have never booked this tour if it was clearly stated the costs would be double. Not worth 70usd if you ask me for a half day tour.
