Minneriya National Park - Minneriya National Park is a national park in the North Central Province of Sri Lanka. The area was designated as a national park on 12 August 1997, having originally been declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1938. The reason for declaring the area as protected is to safeguard the catchment of Minneriya Tank and the wildlife of the surrounding area. The tank is of historical importance, having been built by King Mahasen in the third century AD. The park serves as a dry season feeding ground for the elephant population dwelling in the forests of Matale, Polonnaruwa, and Trincomalee districts. The park earned revenue of Rs. 10.7 million in the six months ending in August 2009. Along with Kaudulla and Girithale, Minneriya forms one of the 70 Important Bird Areas (IBAs) of Sri Lanka. The park is situated 182 kilometres (113 mi) from Colombo.

There are more than 80 documented caves in the surrounding area. Major attractions are spread over five caves, which contain statues and paintings. These paintings and statues are related to Gautama Buddha and his life. There are a total of 153 Buddha statues, three statues of Sri Lankan kings, and four statues of gods and goddesses. The latter include Vishnu and Ganesha. The murals cover an area of 2,100 square metres (23,000 sq ft). Depictions on the walls of the caves include the temptation by the demon Mara and Buddha’s first sermon.

Sri Muthumariamman Temple - Muthumariamman Temple or Arulmigu Sri Muthumari Amman Kovil is a Hindu temple in Matale, Sri Lanka. The prefix “Muthu” literally means “pearl”. “Mari” means rain and “Amman” means mother in Tamil language. The temple is dedicated to Mariamman, the goddess of rain and fertility.

Natural Gems and Gemmological Museum - All visitors to our exclusive geological and gemological museum are invariably given comprehensive knowledge on how Sri Lanka was formed 4.6 billion years ago, encompassing the wonderful minerals and gemstones that outshine those in other parts of the world. The knowledge includes the genesis and deposits of gemstones after they are washed off to the places where the bottoms of gem pits lead to. Furthermore, in our museum, you will see the rarest minerals in the world, which are located and found in Sri Lanka, and also the oldest fossils of living beings, which originated in the Cambrian (541-485 million years) Era.

It was once a filming location for David Lean’s 1957 Oscar-winning epic “Bridge on the River Kwai” on the banks of the Kelani River. Most visitors for adventure sports come from Colombo. Kitulgala’s main attraction is white water rafting, where you can ride the tides of the Kelani River. Other popular activities include confidence jumps, stream sliding, waterfall abseiling, jungle trekking, bird watching, cave exploration, and river trips and expeditions.

Pasindu Dayan - The best one in Sri Lanka - The overall vacation was awesome. All thanks to our valet Pasindu Dayan who made the entire trip so memorable. Pasindu suggested us the perfect places and also the timings to visit those places which made the trip incredible. He got us the tickets for the Ella Odyssey train and also took us to places which were not part of the itinerary. He suggested us the food to try and places of shopping. Pasindu is very friendly, humble and an awesome person. I'd rate him 10/10.
