Great Experience - The tour was a great way to see more of Uruguay. Marcela, the guide, was very knowledgeable and professional. We learned a great deal about the history of Colonia. She took us to the best sites and allowed us plenty of time to enjoy the ones we preferred. As we were spending extra time in the town, she gave us great recommendations for additional activities.

Guided tour to and from Montevideo that is worth it. - A lot of history involved. Portuguese during colonization, “possession” changed 8 times, between Portuguese and Spanish. Colonia del Sacramento is a trip that is very worthwhile. A guided tour is much richer, unless you study a lot before going. One day, it comes and goes, that's enough, with good guidance.

Beautiful place, very comfortable bus. Tasteless with the guide. - The very beautiful place. The bus is very good, unbeatable. The driver is very good. I was left with a tasteless guide from Blanca. We waited at the NH hotel, when the bus arrived it did not ask for us, on the contrary it said another name, if it is not because we asked again we will not go. All his attention was focused on a hotel guest he never found. The matter continued much of the way by answering calls about this matter, because apparently the tourist that the guide did not find was complaining over the phone. In my opinion it was very inappropriate because for a long time it criticized the "irresponsibility of the tourist." But the worst thing was that when leaving Cologne there was a Brazilian tourist missing who didn't make it to the bus. And a relative of the boy complained to him because he did not wait for him and they both started an embarrassing argument over the matter. The truth made us feel uncomfortable.

a little overrated - ferry transfer package from BA to Colonia A/R. Arriving in Colonia you are dispatched on buses depending on the language (Spanish or English). The bus goes at reduced speed towards an arena where you get off. I didn't find any interest in it! then return to Colonia with a stop at the Colonia sign for photos (we save time). Arriving in town the guide (very friendly) takes you into the old town while avoiding other groups. The poor thing struggles to furnish and rehashes the explanations and saves time (1 hour visit) as the town is small and of little interest with the added bonus of lots of mosquitoes.. A remains of a rampart with 1 drawbridge + a few old houses but without interest. It is true that as a European I am used to much better. After (it's not noon) it's free time while waiting for the return ferry (5 p.m.) it's very, very long! Extremely disappointed by this visit which takes 1 day (very long) from BA to duty free on the ferry.

Meh. - The city was a bit dull. The guide spoke way too fast and seemed to be spitting out a memorized script as fast as she could. She repeated things 4 or 5 times (and still people on the bus were late). Since there were 3 languages, everything took 3 times as long. A big bus of old people. The speed changing between languages and the accent made it hard to understand when you needed to listen. More on lifestyle and less on road length and numbers would bring more heart into the tour.

Very poor - Been picked up at 8:00am and by 10am still going around town picking the other travellers. . Doesn’t really worth to pay for the tour. They take you (literally) running to 3 different places for 2/3 minutes each and that’s all. The rest you have to do it by yourself.
