ROVILSON GUIDE EXCELLENT!!! - Exceptional tour, however, I attribute the fact that the experience was wonderful due to the presence of the guide Rovilson, a wonderful person, a walking encyclopedia, he knows a lot about Uruguay, which made our visit to the country truly special due to all the shared experience and culture. It left us very unaccustomed, because it really is a much above average guide. THE experience was SO WORTH it!

Enchanting place! - Very charming and peaceful place! It’s really nice to stroll through the cobbled streets that are full of history! We were delighted! Guide Gonzalo Silvestre very attentive!

Lots of knowledge - Very cool guide, very charming city. Food a little expensive. Company and place met expectations. Note: bring repellent. Haha…

Inspired to see more of Uruguay - What a pleasant arrival in Colonia - the ferry terminal is lovely and modern and had the feel of an airport. Signage to the town is a bit confusing- we ended up walking out and turning left, which took us past an ancient railway line and well preserved station. There is an artisan market (indoor) on this route too - nice crafts, accept US dollars and cards, toilets and a simple but nice coffee shop.As the town is so small, you can’t go wrong if you turn left. Colonia is tiny, and there isn’t a lot to do, but it is very gentle and beautifully kept. As it’s so small, don’t rush to eat at the first place you see (like we did) but look around for something you like the look of. I wish we had stumbled across Que Tupé sooner with its excellent location and super-bright colours (and of course the old car outside with plants growing in it). Not as many old cars as I had expected, but there were one or two buskers and also a few actors dressed in colonial costumes. The Origami Museum is very sweet, with a lovely lady on the door.

Worth It - Marcella was a good guide who did know English. In fact, she spoke too fast, probably because she had to say everything in three languages. The stop at Granja Colonia was a hoot with the silly collections. Yes, a tourist trap, but isn’t that a part of travel? Maybe they could offer a quick demo about how their products are made or even just a quick presentation of the products. They might sell more, too. Seeing the bull ring was nice but really no need to stop and get off there. The bus drove around so we did get to see it. The old town definitely has an old European vibe and a lot of history. There were inexpensive choices for things to see. Plenty of relaxed places to eat, too. My hotel was in Carassco, so I was one of the first picked up and last dropped off and had to change from the van to the big bus on the way, but it was nice to have the door to door service. Wouldn’t be a problem if your hotel was near the central square and the port. Overall, it was worth the money and a good way to see more of Uruguay.

Guide didnt speak English! - The bad part first. Its sold as a English, Portuguese and Spanish Guide (tour) but the moment they picked us up the guide said he DOESNT speak English which was dissapointing since 4 out of 6 in my grp just speak/understands English. The bus was very comfy, ac but no usb. Toilet on the bus very handy. I suggest you look for a place tl eat by yourself. The guide recommended a nice place but took them about 30 minutes to take the order, 40 minutes to bring the order and 30 to take the payment. Nasty! The guide was nice and he knew what was he talking about (he was Brasilian history teacher). The tour was really well done, no pressure and nice walks and places we visited. The downside was the language that actually spoiled 70% of the trip since it was planned for the tourists (I am originally from Uruguay).

Poor guide experience - Colonia was amazing. The reason for this rating is the guide. He informed us he was a glorified driver for the day and had little to no knowledge of Colonia and its heritage. These tours are guide dependent and the guide we had was not a guide.

This company spoiled my weekend in Montevideo. I waisted a day due to this company seing nothing. - This company spoiled my weekend in Montevideo. I waisted a day due to this company seing nothing. I trevel 1 year in total in Latin America, in 12 countries, and the experience with this company was the worst ever. Colonia del Sacramento was the place where I wanted to go. They cancelled my booking at 22:07 in the eveneing before the tour, so that I could not buy any other tour. They cancelled it with a reason like "we have no English guide for tomorrow". But I was againt NOT Spanish guide! I texted them this. Also I asked them to text me in WhatsApp - they ignored. After cancellation when I texted in viator, they OK with Spanish, but NOT TEXTED ABOUT PICKUP - only asked me to come to certain distant hotel. Distent from me. I was with no mobile intenet, spened the morning trying to find them instead of picking me up from my hotel. Bobody. Have to leave Montevideo with a bad mood. NOT EVEN ANY APOLOGY FROM THE COMPANY. Worst ever seen client service in both Central and South America.
