Villa Olmo - A grand structure featuring a slightly elevated central section adorned with columns and roundels of Plato, Solon, Thales, Socrates, and Pythagoras, crafted by Ticino sculptor Francesco Carabelli. It houses a museum dedicated to Alessandro Volta, the inventor and native of Como.
Villa Erba - A site of significant historical value, home to the Museum of Luchino Visconti’s Rooms, and serves as an exhibition and conference center. Located in a beautiful centuries-old park with a green area that once served as a riding track, it overlooks the lake.
Villa D’Este Golf Club - Renowned as one of the most exquisite architectural works of the sixteenth century, designed by Pellegrino Pellegrini, also known as “Il Tibaldi.” The villa is set in a 10-hectare park with century-old plants, featuring Pellegrini’s Nymphaeum, the Fountain of Hercules, and the Temple of Telemachus. Inside, you can admire art pieces from the French school, the school of Canova, and decorations by Andrea Appiani. It has been a luxury hotel for 150 years.
Villa Le Fontanelle - A yellow, four-story neoclassical building constructed in the early 19th century by the eccentric Englishman Lord Charles Currie, who fell in love with Lake Como. It became famous as the residence of Gianni Versace, who bought it in 1970.
Villa Passalacqua - Located on the left shore of Lake Como’s western branch in Moltrasio, Villa Passalacqua is a luxury hospitality landmark. Originally a private residence of the Odescalchi family, it later became a lavish hotel owned by the Lucini Passalacqua family for over a century, hosting notable figures like Churchill, Torelli Viollier, and Bellini.
Villa ai Cedri di Carate Urio (late 18th century) - The current villa stands on an ancient 18th-century residence, significantly modified in the early 19th century by the Sormani counts to create a strong connection with the surrounding nature. Greenhouses, stables, and an armory were also added.
