The perfect way to get to know Costa Rican culture and take part in some of our most important activities in Costa Rica: cooking, eating, and dancing!\nPeople are starting to really take to learning about new cultures and the best way to do that is to learn about what the locals eat.\nTurns out, Costa Rica has amazing cuisine – it’s healthy, natural, and actually very easy to learn how to cook it. That’s why you’ll be wanting to take back local spices and try some of our favorite recipes back home with your friends and families.\nWe’ve planned these cooking classes as a great way to get to know other travelers and hang out with a knowledgeable local “chef!”\nBut the night gets even better because as soon as you finish cooking, you’ll be able to sit down to the delicious meal you helped cook up and chat about the “Pura Vida” of Costa Rica.\nBut wait… there’s more! Hope you brought your dancing shoes to Costa Rica because we then head to the dance floor to learn how to dance to some of our favorite Latin beats – salsa, merengue, cumbia y bachata!

Enjoyable Introduction to Costa Rica - We very much enjoyed this class! Katherine explained everything in detail during the cooking portion of the class and answered all of our questions. For the salsa dancing, she broke everything down into easy to follow steps and showed us several variations. Would recommend this activity to others!

Local cooking and Salsa dancing - Kathy spoke very good English and has a passion for her cooking and dancing. A really fun class with the food we made, talking to the other couples and then to top it off with the dancing.

Great experience - One of the best experiences on our Costa Rica trip. The cook Jenny had already prepared everything. After we arrived, we were able to mix ourselves a delicious cocktail, then we started cooking. Jenny was always available to answer questions, she was there the whole time and joined in. We really liked the location, everything was very clean. Jenny also showed us the dance steps for salsa and merengue. Here, too, she was very patient.

Family dinner and dancing - Such a fun family experience and one we will remember for years to come. We brought our kiddos with us ages 14yo, 6yo, and 3yo and they absolutely loved it all. Our instructor/guide was so informative and great with the kiddos and explanation. We made a traditional Costa Rica meal our whole family loved including black beans, rice, maduros (sweet fried plantains), chicken, and picadillo (vegetable mixture) we also enjoyed a Costa Rican inspired whiskey drink while we cooked. After, we learned and danced salsa. It was an evening of laughter, learning, love and memory making. Highly recommend if you’re looking for an unforgettable experience the whole family can enjoy.

Delicious and fun! - This class was so much fun and we got to learn a lot about the Costa Rican culture. Our instructor was absolutely wonderful. We made a delicious and authentic dish together (and drinks) and then learned to salsa dance. It was definitely a great experience to end our trip. Best of all, we can now bring a little bit of Costa Rica home with us. We plan on continuing to cook Casado and dance salsa at home.

Wonderful but very warm cooking outside - The people and the food were amazing. Our only problem was the heat. We were uncomfortably hot and had to leave early and miss the dancing. Fans would have been appreciated.

Not really a cooking class... just eating previously prepared food. - I only did the cooking portion, not the dance lesson. It really wasn't a cooking class; all we did was cut vegetables and add them together for pico de gallo - the chicken, beans, rice, plantains and rice pudding were already done and all we did was eat them. We did roll, flatten and fry a tortilla from a dough one person made. Had I known this was all we would get to do, I would not have done it. Then the recipes we ate were supposed to be sent to us. And they were.... 3 days after the class, when most of us had left Costa Rica and could not get the ingredients any more! Disappointing.

Booked event a while ago.... - Booked event a while ago. They canceled our reservation and didn’t even inform me until the day before when I asked a question and they told me they overbooked and canceled my spot. No apology or anything else.
