Additional Information

Our Cruise to Albania from Corfu is aimed at adventurous travellers seeking something out of the ordinary.

From the Port of Corfu, we follow the Albanian coast to the city port of Saranda. After a short coffee break in Saranda, a 20 km guided coach tour of the south coast’s virgin shores and scattered islands is available for those who want it. Leaving the mainland again, we pass small picturesque villages and endless fertile plains that lead to a great lake.

The highlight of your day will be a visit to Butrint – an UNESCO World Heritage site. Over the centuries, the ancient town had disappeared under layers of silt and vegetation.

In recent years, however, archaeologists have uncovered some of the finest working town remains in the Mediterranean. At the edge of the lake is the ancient city of Vouthrota.

Lunch is served upon your return to Saranda.

In the afternoon, there will be a walking tour of Saranda, after which we depart for Corfu.

Fab trip - It was a fabulous day. There is lots of walking and the terrain at seranda is rough. Wear trainers definitely no flip flops. The restaurant we went to food was lovely but watch the way they charge for drinks. We used Euros and were charged a slightly diff price tha if we paid in. Lev. All in all a great day.

Fabulus day in Albania - We had a fabulous day out to Albania from Corfu. The trip itself was so much better than advertised and surpassed or expectations. The boat trip over was not overcrowded with plenty of shade for thhose who wanted it, a great trip arounf Butrint, gorgeous group meal with fresh Sea Bass, Mussels and Greek salad, and all finished with an hour in Saranda. Our guide was brilliant - she was intersting friendly and managed our day fabulously. We made our own way to the port as we had a hire car and did have a little trouble in passport control as we hadn't recieved our boarding pass from the rep, so if in the same situation, hunt out your Ionian Cruises rep. My last advice is you really do need to be at the port at least an hour before you sail to accommodate all thats required for passport control. Enjoy - it was fabulous!!

Great day out - An excellent day trip and well run. Albania is a fascinating country, having the opportunity to explore one of their cities was great. Butrint was a brilliant visit too, the partially submerged ruins have loads of little turtles which we loved. Only downside is the waiting times at the start and end of the trip. Because you're crossing boarders, you have to go through passport control. Since the boat has a lot of people, it can take a while to grt through everyone. Overall, would absolutely recommend it.

Wonderful trip to Butrint - Well organised, pick-up and drop off were on time. Boat trips were comfortable while the bus trip to Butrint and the guided tour was very special. A nice lunch was served in a good local restaurant and staff were very pleasant.

Nice trip - Went with my partner to explore some of Albania, the tour in Albania was very good and our guide was very knowledgeable. Lunch was nice but didn't realize drinks weren't included and they don't take card. Everything else was fine my reason for the 3 stars is because of the rudeness of the staff at Ionian cruises. We didn't find them welcoming and they just seemed fed up.

Nice day trip - Went with my partner on this day trip to Albania and had a lovely time, tour guide was very knowledgeable and the country was beautiful and lunch was great. My only problem was the rudeness of the staff for Ionian cruises who worked on the ships. I would of given this a 5 star if they weren't rude. Everything else was fine.

Total waste of time and money - Don’t bother … we booked hoping would be much improved from a review from 2019. From leaving hotel @ 07:20 no time for breakfast was told by TUI rep to walk down steep hill to meet Albanian transport bus, got a phone call to say to meet at hotel trxwption by phone call:( transport collected is then 40 min drive to harbour, then waited 40 mins to go through customs, then 20 min wait for boat (grotty with broken seats) to leave then 55 minute transfer to Albania, another bus to the ruins - these were enjoyable to see, baby turtles and some history but also don’t go if you have a bad back or knee/leg injury as you have to climb 150 steps to church ruins before leaving - toir takes about 40 min then back on bus to restaurant for a rubbish buffet of potatoes mini kebab meat sausage lettuce tomatoes aubergine and hard sliced bread. The restaurant did have a lovely rooftop pool but not allowed to use a d whacked off to town to shop !? 45 mins of a few shops on the front selling same things - don’t waste your money !!!! Don’t waste your time … how eat the bus driver and the tour guide was so lovely x. All in all we didn’t get back till 7:20 so 12 hours away with 3/4 of that time travelling. :(

If this were Eurovision then Viator nil point - Albania 12 points/douze points - Viator you suck bigger than the suckiest sweet ever! Ionian travel, your instructions for meeting your representative and the rep not having anything that identified her as your rep other than the small logo on her jacket as she stood in a throng of towering people was ridiculous. BUT the boat trip to Albania after embarkation was Amazing and thoroughly recommended. DO NOT waste your money booking via Viator, they take €50 per person for being the middleman. Instead, go to your local tour shop and save yourself money and, whilst viator did not include a pick up/return for us, a local tour provider will. Albania 5 stars Boat crossing 5 stars Ionian tour guides - 5+ stars Ionian Rep on port - 1 star for being there but zero for clear communication Viator minus points for taking money as a useless middleman. Definitely worth the visit just not via Viator!
