Additional Information
Maintaining a half-century old tradition, the Bender family invites you on a 2-hour, small group exploration of the northern part of Corolla. We traverse the beach and sand dunes in our open-air safari vehicles, sharing interesting history and ecological facts along the journey. The expedition includes multiple stops for photo opportunities and points of interest, and exclusive access to the Wild Horse Conservation Area. A well-versed horse guide joins the tour to help you better understand what you see. Select from one of three departure slots when making your reservation.
At present, we only permit full capacity if all members belong to a single family or group living in the same rental property. Otherwise, the maximum limit is set at TWELVE (12) individuals.
Please get in touch with us directly if your party exceeds 12 people so that we can arrange accommodations.
Kindly note that we cannot accommodate children WEIGHING LESS THAN 40 POUNDS on this tour.
- Please read all of this carefully. We cannot accomodate kids under five years of age or 40 pounds, if you do not read this and you arrive with kids that don’t meet these requirements, we will be forced to tell you that they can not come and as parents ourselves, this breaks our hearts. Please read all instructions.
- We are not responsible if you get stuck in traffic. Being stuck in traffic does not warrant a refund. Traffic is common. Please allow time to arrive 30 minutes prior to the time of your tour.
- No children under 40 pounds can come on the tour whatsoever.
- Adult pricing applies to all travelers 13 years of age and older.
- Children must be accompanied by an adult.
- Dress code is casual.
- Dogs have been asked to not be brought on tour by the Corolla Wild Horse Fund. Registered Service Animals only.
- Any changes or amendments to bookings, including number of persons, date, time, or discounts must be made through Viator. Corolla outback adventures cannot amend reservations without a request from traveler made to Viator.

So much FUN!!! - We traveled with a friend and 2 other kids. We all had such a great time and Edna was the BEST!!! Definitely would recommend this tour!!!

Corolla wild horses - The driver was very informative and gave us great views of the landscape and the horses. He showed us the one week old foal sleeping by her mother and circled back to the area and saw the baby nursing her mother. Very safe driver too !

Best thing to do in the OBX! - The best part of our vacation! Our guide Kurt was so knowledgeable and fun! He took the time to educate us on the history of the horses and Corolla. We found so many horses and got amazing pictures! He took z family group picture for us! We got to see a Rare encounter of two black Stallions batteling. Highly recommend doing this.

Great experience - We really enjoyed learning the history of these beautiful horses. Curt, our tour guide, was a wealth of information. We could have driven the beach on our own, but I feel like we would have missed out on so much.

Amazing experience - We loved this tour! We were parking at the meeting place and I appreciated that they called us to ask if we were on our way. The ride is bumpy because they drive the trucks on the sand dunes, but we LOVED IT!

Horses abound - We saw lots of horses on the beach and also drive through a couple of housing developments where the horses hang out. They were beautiful animals. Guide was friendly and knowledgeable.
