What an eye!! - Booked a last minute private tour, met Jose Luis aka Chino, and Oli the driver, awesome people. Chino was incredibly knowledgeable and what an eye and an ear!! We were beey lucky to have him be our guide. And his photography skills!!! Priceless, amazing. Worth the money and experience. We saw howling monkeys at the end, very cool. He could spot the tiniest bug, insect, snake!! Amazing. Definitely recommend him.

Wonderful guide, beautiful park - This was such a wonderful tour! I was traveling with a group that contained a lot of wildlife enthusiasts, and I wasn't sure how much I would enjoy the park personally, but it ended up being a wonderful combination of beautiful scenery, a nice hike, and scientific information about the local flora and fauna. This was in large part due to our guide, Joshua, who was not only shockingly good at spotting creatures like tiny eyelash viper snakes, but also exceptionally knowledgeable about the plant and animal life (seriously, our group had a Biology teacher in it and they were getting into detail about precise types of lizards/insects - it was really impressive). Joshua (and the other guides we saw with tour groups) also all have a telescope with them so that you can get a closer view when you do spot animals on our own, like the spider and howler monkeys we watched play in the trees. Thanks to our guide, we were even able to get some close up photos of the monkeys through his telescope. I'd absolutely recommend Mistico to anyone visiting for its own merits: beautiful views, a waterfall, lush greenery, but if we had come on our own without Canoa Aventura's tour, we definitely would have missed most of the wildlife. Taking this tour will not only provide you transportation (which is great because it is a little removed from most of the local hotels), but also a helpful and friendly guide who will help you spot the little details and get a close up view of the animals great and small who call this park home. It's a really beautiful trip that you should leave at least half of a day for!

Loved this tour—so educational, incredible views, great tour guide! - We traveled to Costa Rica in June 2024, and our travel agency (Pacific Trade Winds) booked two of our tours near La Fortuna with Canoa Adventura. Both tours were fantastic and I would absolutely recommend working with them! Specifically for this review, we did the hanging bridges tour with Roy, and he was so great! Very personable right from the beginning, and he was so knowledgeable about the wildlife and plants we saw on the tour. He was very accommodating for pictures, answered our questions, and was great at communicating what was next in our time together. 100% a great experience! Highly recommend working with this company if you’re considering it. If we go back to this area of CR, we’re absolutely using this same company for any excursions!

Nature walk and hanging bridges - We had a great guide that made sure we saw all the different birds, monkeys and snakes. He used a monocular and then a camera from someone in the group. At the end we all air dropped our pics and videos to each other. It was a nature walk which I didn’t realize and appreciated. The fruit at the end was pineapple and banana.

Hanging Bridges - We loved Misitco hanging bridges. Had José as our tour guide and he stopped along the way to show us all sorts of wildlife.

Incredible way to see breathtaking rainforest flora and fauna - This was a perfect introduction to the rainforest for our family of 5 (2 adults, 3 children ages 16-18yrs). The park itself is stunning- all five of us were impressed and had a wonderful time. Our guides Mau and Roberto were engaging, knowledgeable, and managed to balance a relaxed delivery with keeping the tour on track. We learned an incredible amount about the history, culture, flora and fauna of the area. Both guides had spotting scopes and we saw all kinds of wildlife that we would not have found on our own. Mau seems to find creatures magically while simultaneously telling a joke. Roberto is particularly good with birds. On the bus ride back, Mau air-dropped all of us photos and video he took on our tour including a number of close-ups from the scopes. The walking is relatively easy but the path is uneven and remember to wear closed-toed shoes. You are likely to get wet for at least part of the tour- we appreciated our rain jackets. Thank you Canoa Aventura, looking forward to a return visit and taking other trips with you.

You should really consider a private tour - worth every penny! - We arranged a private tour of Mistico through this company and it was worth every penny. We were picked up at our hotel by George, our driver, and Eduardo, our guide. At the start of the drive we talked about our interests and Eduardo started immediately giving us info and answering questions. Less than 10 minutes into the drive, he spotted a sloth so we pulled over and could see it well through his scope and he is able to take video and photos on your camera through the scope of anything you see during the trip. Then George spotted some monkeys and again we pulled over to watch. And this was all before we parked! The walk through the forest was spectacular, 15 bridges, 6 hangin over deep ravines. We saw multiple animals, plants, and insects. It was wonderful to walk at our own pace and to not have to get in line with other group members to look quickly through the scope. We could take all the time we wanted to watch, including following a group of monkeys as they jumped through the canopy munching on leaves. And Eduardo was a wealth of information - we learned so much during our time with him. At the end George had laid out a wonderful snack of fruit for us before our ride back to the hotel. The whole experience was magical and we would not hesitate to take a private tour to Mistico again, particularly with Eduardo and George, so if you go see if you can get them. All our other tours were with groups and we enjoyed them but Mistico is definitely a place to do as a private tour. And it wasn't that much more expensive that the group tour. Thank you Eduardo and George for a fantastic tour!!!

Costa Rica Family Trip 2023 - Best guided experience ever! The guides were very knowledgeable and stopped for plenty of photos! I would highly recommend this tour and group.

The jungle at your feet - Very organized. A very attentive Guide. Going through the different levels of the jungle is an experience not to be missed. And we saw different kinds of animals. Highly recommended.
