Highlights
  • Barack Obama Plaza Visitor Centre - The first stop on this tour is the renowned Barack Obama Plaza. This location is perfect for a short break, where you can grab a quick bite and some snacks for the road!

However, this plaza is celebrated as the finest service station in all of Ireland. We are not just bringing you to a plaza; we are bringing you to the plaza.

Built in honor of former US President Barack Obama, whose ancestor hailed from the nearby town of Moneygall.

Recently, a new addition was made to the plaza when it was visited by famous talk show host and writer Conan O’Brien, who had the unique honor of having a new air pump named after him.

Visit the Conan O’Brien Air Pump, enjoy some breakfast, and take a picture with a statue of the former president and his first lady before hopping back on the bus to continue our journey to the West of Ireland.

  • Ennistymon - Upon departing Barack Obama Plaza, the coach will drive past the ancient cities of Limerick and Ennis, and briefly travel underneath the widest and longest river in all of Ireland, the majestic River Shannon. Shortly after the Shannon, we will pass by Bunratty Castle and begin to traverse the winding roads of County Clare, home of the Cliffs of Moher.

Ennistymon is a must-visit for anyone taking a coach tour to the Cliffs of Moher, as it is home to the infamous ‘Kissing Corner of Ennistymon,’ known across the west of Ireland for the difficulty some drivers have navigating one of the tightest turns on the entire island! With our drivers, however, you will see what true professionals can do as they sail right through, no matter the conditions.

Make sure to hold your breath and don’t forget to applaud your driver when they navigate this turn towards adventure.

  • Cliffs of Moher - At the Cliffs of Moher, you will have the opportunity to stand on the edge of the world. Rising to a height of 214 meters (702 feet) at their highest point and stretching along the coast for miles in either direction, the views here are nothing short of spectacular.

You will gaze out across the Atlantic Ocean, and if you watch carefully, you will see an abundance of wildlife that fills the air, land, and ocean around you.

Species of whales can be seen breaching the surface, as well as the famous Basking Shark. Some of these animals are seasonal, but regardless of the season, there is plenty of life at the Cliffs, from Puffins to Porpoises!

Carved out of the landscape over 300 million years ago, you can see the remains of rivers that once flowed out to sea in this era, high up in the cliff face—a story written in stone of a world long since changed and reshaped by time and tide.

The Cliffs of Moher are a breathtaking spectacle not easily forgotten.

  • Wild Atlantic Way - Departing the Cliffs begins our journey along the Wild Atlantic Way proper. We will be traveling along the middle section of the Wild Atlantic Way, a road that runs from the north of Ireland to the very south along the western coastline. It is one of the longest continuous coastal roads in the world! We are going to drive right through the middle of it, all the way to Galway, through some of the most awe-inspiring scenery in all of Ireland.

There is so much to see on this drive you won’t believe it until you experience it! From the flowers of the Burren to the abandoned homes left idle since the Great Famine. You will hear and see more than just a few tales, tunes, and thrills as the coach works its way down along the coastline that leads into Galway Bay and eventually to the great city of Galway.

  • The Burren National Park - The enchanting Burren National Park covers 1,500 hectares and offers mesmerizing landscapes with unique karst rocks for stunning photos. Witness sweeping vistas of the Aran Islands and Twelve Bens mountain range. The park’s ecological diversity is astonishing, with Mediterranean, Arctic, and Alpine plants coexisting in harmony, showcasing nature’s adaptability.

With 75% of Ireland’s native flora, it’s a treasure for botanical enthusiasts and boasts intriguing ancient monuments, megalithic tombs, fairy forts, and iconic Celtic crosses, reflecting Ireland’s captivating folklore and cultural legacy.

Explore nature, history, and photography in this extraordinary place that promises an awe-inspiring experience, leaving an indelible imprint on you.

  • Dunguaire Castle - Shortly after crossing into County Galway, we will do a drive-by of the 16th-century Dunguaire Castle, situated on the edge of the village of Kinvarra. It is one of the most intact castles of its kind in this part of Ireland. It has seen everything from the legends of St. Colman of Kilmacduagh to Walt Disney’s movie production company.

Sitting right by the waterside beyond the village of Kinvarra, Dunguaire Castle holds significant importance in the history of literature in Ireland, having been used by notable Irish writers from W.B. Yeats to J.M. Synge.

This castle is one of the few with its exterior wall still intact. You may even catch a glimpse of a traditional Galway Hooker in the old fishing harbor, waiting to be taken out along Galway Bay to catch some of the fish you may enjoy in Galway City!

  • Galway - Galway is known as Ireland’s Cultural Capital and is one of the ancient parts of Ireland, having seen human habitation for a long period of time. From its beginnings with small family groups of the Claddagh Fisher-Kings to the rise of the most powerful merchant families in Irish history, there is a richness of history and culture to be found here.

With the arrival of the Normans, Galway began to become ‘The City of the Tribes,’ which it still is to this very day and will welcome you with open arms as it has with people from all over the world for centuries. You will struggle to find a more vibrant and lively city on the entire island.

Try some of the world-famous seafood while enjoying a pint and taking in some traditional Irish music.

Go for a wander, find yourself somewhere in the busy places of Galway, and if not there, then try the quiet places which await your discovery around every corner.

This is the ideal tour if you wish to end in Galway and still get some sightseeing done.

Great way to see the country without having to drive! - Brian and Fred were a great team. Brian was full of "crack" and provided a wealth of information. Fred got us there and back safely even in the rain and wind! My only suggestion would be to update the description of the tour. We had coaches with a toilet and there was plenty of food along the way. The description makes it sound like we had to pack up food in advance for the day and there would only be intermittent stops available for biological needs.

A great time with Steven! - We really enjoyed the narrating by Steven and the driving by Fred. We learned so much about Dublin, Irish history, and many more things. Steven was so kind when my daughter got carsick and made a way for her to sit in the front. He is so funny and enjoyable to listen to.

A Fun Way to Explore Ireland - Overall, this was an amazing tour. The tour guide was fun and very knowledgeable and shared folklore and history as we were on the journey. the bus driver did a wonderful job of maneuvering small Irish roads and traffic. We had about 1 1/2 hours at the Cliffs of Moher, which was enough time to hike around, get some great pictures and do some shopping. It also included two more stops, at the Barren and the Abby, both of those were only about 15 minutes, so just enough to look around and get some pictures. However, we did get two hours at Galway, which was a nice bonus, and I am glad we had the extra time there than the two additional stops. In Galway I would recommend going to Murphy's Ice Cream shop. They have unique ice cream flavors, including gin flavored ones. I got the Honeycomb Carmel and Dingle Gin cone and it was yum. I also liked getting the chips from Pratai. They pride themselves on using local grown potatoes and offere different sauces and seasonings. I got the Nut Butter Satay with Irish Sea Salt and it was fabulous. There are two reasons I did not give this a five-star review. The first, was the write up said to bring food/drink with us. We brought with us the extra items, but in reality, we didn't need to. We stopped at a very large gas station/store on the way out which had food and drink at it. Also, at the Cliffs of Moher there was food and drink, as well as at Galway. The instructions made it sound like if you didn't bring food, you would have very little options all day, and I wish I had known the reality and not brought the extra items with us. Secondly, the bus. It was awful. While it did have features such as plugs to charge your phone and a bathroom on it - that was the only good thing about it. I have done many tours and this bus had the least amount of leg room on a bus I have ever been on. For short trips, it's not as bad - but considering this tour was 12 hours, we were very sore from not having extra leg room. Other busses also have the drop-down feet rests and even table trays. This bus did not. While it did have Wi-Fi available, it wasn't very consistent. In our group were tall and short people, and we all agreed that the leg room was lacking. Overall, I would recommend this tour for anyone looking to see some beautiful Irish scenery, just be aware that the bus may be lacking for the long trip.

Great Tour, Poor Guide - We took the tour on Sept. 18/23 and Rachel was our guide. Her attempts at humour were generally immature, unfunny and often cringeworthy. Spending over 13 hours with her was difficult. Even worse than the humour was the fact that when we arrived at the Cliff's of Moher, a sudden downpour with strong winds came up. We were herded off the bus into the driving rain and were soaked in seconds leaving us so wet that we did not really enjoy the views. When we asked Rachel why we weren't allowed to stay on the bus for the 10 minutes the rain lasted, she said it was because it was time for her break. She admitted some "refused to leave the bus", her words, and stayed until after the rain. She also said her feet got wet too as she handed out tickets as if that should make us feel better. Overall, the tour was great and I highly recommend it. Hope you get a different guide.

Great Day Out - Cliff Of Moher was breathtaking, could have a bit more time there as we were unable to cover the castle on the other side of the cliff. We are not impressed with our tour guide though.

Questionable experience. Hard time recommending to others. - This trip was disappointing for us. The weather wasn’t great, but that didn’t bother us. The countryside was stunning, as expected. It was our tour guide that made it less than it could have been. We would have preferred an Irish native with history and passion about the country, not just a high schooler from a different country that has just read a lot of history books. It was a regimental tour and not very lighthearted. The guide was also borderline inappropriate with jokes about cheap hookers. Know your audience. Quite a few were offended but I don’t think he even noticed. The route itself was lovely, but I have a hard time recommending due to the guide.

Good trip - Beautiful places and great tour guide. I visited the cliffs when the place had a dense fog unfortunately but the other places in the trip added value to the journey. My main and only issue was that I had to be seated away from my wife because of lack of availability of seats next to each other

So-so - This was a pretty good tour, beautiful sites, and friend staff. What we didn't love was that some of the information was inaccurate. We googled some of the information by the end because we knew it was wrong. But what they lacked information, they made up for in friendliness.

Gross drivers - The driver was incredibly misogynistic through the trip. He repeatedly made comments about how “women should not be allowed to drive” and other remarks about womens appearances and their atttactiveness. He also mocked the other passengers accents when it was obvious English was not their first language. Do not recommend.
