Highlights
  • Christ Church Cathedral - Originally built in wood by the Vikings, the magnificent cathedral was recast in stone by the Normans and renovated by whiskey money in the the 19th century.
  • Saint Patrick’s Cathedral - Named after our famous patron saint who drove the snakes off the island, St. Patrick’s Cathedral was superbly renovated by the Guinness family (Sir Benjamin lee Guinness) in the 1860s.
  • Dubh Linn Gardens - Home the Chester Beatty Library, this beautiful and secluded garden is where the Vikings moored their Long Boats when they arrived in Dublin in the 9th century.
  • Dublin Castle - The centre of British government in Ireland for 700 years, Dublin Castle is a stunning mixture of medieval, Georgian, Gothic and modern architecture.
  • City Hall - Beside City Hall and outside the front gate of the castle we explain the significance of our national flag: peace between Catholic and Protestant, North and South.
  • Temple Bar - One of the oldest parts of the city and now famous for the lively pubs and nightlife, we describe how it was laid out during the Tudor conquest of Ireland.
  • Millennium Bridge - Having crossed the river Liffey from the south to the north, we can take in the view of the city from the east where the Celts built their settlement 2,100 years ago to the west where the Americans inspired the Silicon Docks 21 years ago.
  • Ha’penny Bridge - We cross back to the south over the iconic Ha’Penny Bridge. Originally, named after the Duke of Wellington we can thank Harland & Wolff that the bridge no longer shakes when you walk over it!
  • Merchant’s Arch - Dublin is a city of contrasts, typified by Crown Alley with Merchant’s Arch at one end and Sam Stephenson’s brutalist behemoth, Stephenson Tower, at the other.
  • College Green - With some of the most beautiful buildings (banks and parliament) in the city, College Green was the centre of government and finance in a city that considered itself to be the 02nd city of the empire.
  • Molly Malone Statue - No tour of Dublin is complete without saying hello to our favourite daughter of Dublin, Molly Malone!
  • Trinity College Dublin - We conclude our exploration of our beloved old city outside the magnificent Trinity College, home to the famous Book of Kells exhibition.

Excellent guided walking tour with Conor. - Excellent tour with Conor. Energetic, fast paced, informative. The tour started at 11:00am and kept going till 2:45pm, with a short break. Conor answered all the questions everyone had, gave recommendations for travel and pubs, was easy to understand, excited about his city and the history of Ireland. We highly recommend the tour, and him.

The tour by Conor was a highlight of my trip - I had a tour with Conor. He was very funny, friendly/welcoming to all, knowledgeable about Dublin and had fun facts and stories. He made a great impression of the locals. I went to Ireland for the Bryan Adams concert and this tour by Conor ended up being a highlight of my trip!

Amazing Dublin beginners tour! - My friend and I did the Southside tour with Marty and were thrilled with all the sights and Marty’s knowledge. A great introduction to Dublin and packed with information. We couldn’t get enough so we also took the Northside tour with James that afternoon. James really tied all the political history together in a complete package that made the city come alive for us. Hopefully back soon and this tour will be first in the agenda.

Excellent tours and guide - My mom and I did two walking tours (north side and south side) with this company while in Dublin and they were fantastic. They were both with James, who was a humourous and knowledgeable guide. I think either of these tours (but maybe especially the south side tour, which is a bit longer) would be great ways to start your stay in Dublin and get leads on what to check out next in addition to learning the city's history.
