Gorgeous slice of paradise - We had a blast here. Myself, partner, my mother (with mobility issues) my 20 year old daughter with a disability and my teen kids. It was stunningly beautiful, well laid out. The paths were easy to navigated even though it was raining heavily (that made it even more fun). It's so warm it doesn't matter if you get wet just bring a towel. The drive up there is pretty special too!

Informative and entertaining new view of the rainforest - This is effectively a living outdoor museum. The staff there told us we’d need to allow about 60 minutes to tour the place but we spent about three hours going through and doing all the different walks The audio tour is interesting and informative - especially the indigenous audio tracks. The booklet that you get with the ticket is really good as well Fascinating to see how the rainforest works and so many different types of plants competing for water and sunlight. The elevated boardwalk puts you up in the canopy for a new perspective and the tower puts you way above it All the staff were really friendly and eager to talk about the centre Our 12year old is really into animals and nature and he absolutely loved the tour and wanted to take in every single thing Highly recommend this to anyone, but if you’ve got a nature lover in the family, they’ll definitely get a lot out of it

Great day out - It’s worth the visit. But not as big as I thought it was. And we didn’t use the self guided things as we have two young kids that don’t like to stand still. We did all the walks and the tower. And had a bite to eat at the cafe. The staff was super helpful and even helped use with a map of places to visit while we were there

Nice experience in the treetops - It was worth the trip to enjoy the aerial walkways in the treetops. The guided tour audio was somewhat interesting. The displays were a little dated but generally good - wished there were more. Just a note that to get here you need to go across the ferry which is $45 return. If you want to have a delicious lunch close by Thorntons was awesome.

Pricey with some tacky dinosaurs thrown in for the kids - Ok you can walk in a rainforest in many places; both in Aus and around the world. We have experienced both so felt this visit to be a tad overpriced for what it gave. The walks are informative by way of the headphones and well-signed prompts. The kids will love the dinosaurs....we didn't! Vegetation and the tower were good experiences but the attempt to highlight some of the indigenous animals fell quite flat at times. Looking at other reviews I tend to agree that the animal areas were not worth the money although perhaps our visit to the Crocodile Farm tipped us this way? Interesting but not a "must do" attraction I would say.

Educational bit a bit pricey for what it is. - Canopy walk nice and the the walking through the Cassowary circuit was pretty but no Cassowaries (nature is fickle). Only worth it if you really spend the time and listen to the audio and spend 1 to 1.5 hours. If in a rush, not worth the price. Good washrooms although the cafe is...interesting!

Good for young kids - As an adult you won’t get much more out of this than doing one of the boardwalks. You get bored of the audio commentary quickly. But if you have young kids (10 or under) then the insect, snakes and fish exhibits, the tower and the prehistoric creature statues are probably enough to justify the cost. Only took us about an hour to see it all. Go see it but don’t prioritise it or expect a days worth of entertainment.

Average experience for the price. - Good audio and reading information. Some numbers don't make sense as trees may have died or covered with other ones. Overall super expensive for the amount of walk and information available.

Check your list of things to do - Firstly everyone said this is a must to visit. With excitement we hired a car and set off from Cairns. The Cook Highway is a really lovely drive. Upon arriving found that you need to cross with the ferry (a unexpected expense). Made our way to discovery centre with beautiful landscape and viewpoints on route. The audio tour was fab and lots of info to digest but overall found it underwhelming, it took us just over a hour to complete. Overall the cost involved and limited time available we could have picked something else. If you have time by all means it’s worth it otherwise something closer to Cairns or maybe add some additional Daintree adventures. Overall, friendly and very helpful staff, good parking, good information, walkways accessible, sight clean and tidy. A must, bring a drink as hot and humid (we visited July) and bring bug spray. I usually don’t get bit but on this occasion they loved me.
