- Alajuela - After gathering all our guests, we’ll embark on a journey through the quaint towns of “Birrí” towards “San José de la Montaña”, and then through the picturesque community of Sacramento. From there, we’ll travel along a dirt road to reach the main entrance of Barva Volcano Park.

Volcan Barva - The Barva Volcano Lagoon Trail
We’ll begin our walk along the main path, venturing into the lush greenery that envelops most of the park, leading us to the most popular trail. This trail extends all the way to the crater’s viewpoint and is approximately 3km long. -
Volcan Barva - Sendero Cacho De Venado
This will be the trail we take on our return journey. It spans about 1.9km and is particularly appealing for birdwatching, with the area being home to over 80 different species of exotic birds. -
Volcan Barva - Laguna Copey (optional and should be communicated in advance)
For those seeking a serious challenge, the Laguna Copey trail is ideal. This 5.3km hike means covering over 10km of slopes, dirt paths, and stairs, offering a rewarding experience for those up to the task. This option is entirely optional and should be communicated in advance. -

The local culture showcases a harmonious relationship with nature, allowing visitors to explore traditional Costa Rican practices, artisan crafts, and delectable cuisine. On our way back to the meeting point, we’ll stop at a local restaurant to enjoy some food and a welcoming atmosphere.
