Highlights

Cusco - Meet your driver at your hotel between 3:30am to 4:00am, and then travel by private transportation to Mollepata village. See the the lush valley of the Apurimac River during your 2-hour drive.
Mollepata - In Mollepata, we will stop for a quick breakfast to get some energy before our hike! We will continue on our journey by car towards Soraypampa,
SORAYPAMPA - We will continue on our journey by car towards Soraypampa, which will take approximately one hour (3900 masl). Here, we will begin our trek to the Humantay Lake located at 4200 masl (13779 feet).
Salkantay Trail - During the trek you will able to see the majestic apu Salkantay
Humantay Lake - The steep hike up will take about 1 hour and 30 min. If the climb is too difficult, you can ride a horse up to the lake. Once you reach the hardship will be forgotten once you reach the top and see the magnificent Apu Humantay Lake. On the top of the mountain we will learn about why this place was considered sacred for the Incas and we will take time to appreciate the breathtaking views. After that we have to return to Mollepata
SORAYPAMPA - Once at the bottom, we will go back to Mollepata and have a delicious lunch.
Centro Historico De Cusco - Finally, we will take our transportation from Mollepata and go back to Cusco and enjoy a much-needed siesta! Drop off are close to Plaza San Francisco around 18h.

SHOCKING!!! - The tour departs early at 4 am from Cusco. It includes breakfast and lunch on return. With regard to trekking it takes an hour and a half to climb and a little less to get down. The climb is steep and you have to understand that the altitude does not help oxygenate well, it is not any hike requires this opto physically. The recommendation would be to do the horse climb for 80 suns if one is not trained but it should be clarified that you only climb then you have to walk down and although it is easier also requires your physical requirement as I said for the altitude conditions. One way or another do not miss reaching the lagoon is worth 100 percent!!!

Maravilhosa - The path to the lake was not steep and the guide Javier, very attentive, recommended us the horse that was essential. Also recommended us the best photos sites, it was all great.

Great experience! - We had an amazing time! Our guide Gilthon was extremely helpful and took some great photos of us at the lake. It snowed on our hike so it was a little slick, but our guide was very helpful in making sure everyone had help during slick sections of the hike.

Massive trekking! - The trail is a little difficult, but it is possible to do it calmly and stopping, considering that the guide accompanies the last person in the group. Additionally, it is possible to rent a horse to go up and down. But I recommend doing the trail on foot, to better enjoy the path and the landscapes. We stopped for a few minutes at the lagoon and had time for photos and rest. The guide Javier Pro was very attentive and careful with the group, especially with my mother, who has wear and tear problems on her knees and had a little more difficulty getting down.

CLIMBING IS NOT EASY, BUT IT IS WORTH ALL!! - First of all: YOU HAVE TO BE PREPARED. The climb is pretty tough. Apart from when we went the parking lots were closed by a huaico and we had to walk even more. Acclimate to the height quite a lot and go patiently, there is no rush. It manages to climb and is worth it, but it is quite heavy. Both the Guide and the driver were very friendly and the Guide's explanation in the lagoon was very interesting, only after almost two days of climbing, I would have liked us to be a little more in the lagoon. Somewhere the Guide disappeared during the ascent and you didn't know if you were on the right track or who to turn to if you needed anything. Very good food!

Great views - It’s super nice place and views are amazing but you need to get up early and the food for breakfast and lunch is always the same in these stations - but overall it’s positive experience
