Standout Experience: Do it! - If you you’re looking to learn more about Peruvian cuisine this is the best experience. Chef Ronal is not only an expert in the kitchen, but also as a native of Cusco (born and raised) Ronal is super knowledgeable about anything related to the city. So we got a fascinating tour of the market, as well as an insight to the history and way of life for the citizens of the Andes. We have spent two weeks in Peru already and have done a number of excursions including the famed Machu Picchu trek, sand skied in Huacachina and spent time in the Tambopata jungle, this experience ranks as one of the best on our 20-day trip to Peru. We learned to make a Pisco Sour, and the traditional stuffed pepper, Ceviche and Lomo Saltado. All were as good, if not better than the versions we have eaten at the restaurants. Ronal also taught basic cooking skills such as using a knife, flambé and the concept of mis en place when you are cooking. We also met a wonderful group of people from all over the world. The tour included a trip to the famous San Pedro Market. Ronal demystified the stalls, and we had the chance to try new fruits, cheeses and breads. Would give this experience 5+ stars. Thank you Ronal and Cusco Gastronomic Tours. This is a standout experience.

One of our Cusco highlights! - This was one of our trip highlights. Ronald took our small group to the San Pedro market, where he gave us a hilarious but informative crash course in the market and all of its offerings (edible and otherwise). His professional chef knowledge shined through in his explanations of the various foods and preparations across different cuisines and fusions. Back at the workshop, we tested fresh Peruvian fruit, cheese, and bread. Then we dove into prep work! Our options were ceviche or lomo saltado, but Ronal educated us about all the foods as we went, adding in Peruvian history as well. The food was fantastic, and we had a great time working with and making new friends in our workshop group. Nothing like good food to bring people together!

Great food and a lot of interesting information about Cuaco and the market - First you go to the market, where you get a very good explanation of all the products offered in the market. Bsck in the kitchen you can try different typical fruits, cheese and bread. The cooking itself is a lot of fun and the explanations are very clear. The food we prepared was great. I would really recommend taking this cooking class if you want to have a different experience of Peru.

Enriching and rich! - My experience was totally positive. We walked to the Market where Ronal introduced us Top-rated products and local vendors, he is born and raised in Cusco and trained Pro cook. Then we went to his kitchen studio to taste the fruits, breads, cheeses and tamales he had bought. Next we learned to make Pisco Sour, ceviche (other participants made sautéed loin), and stuffed rocoto. All this with information on gastronomy history, production methods and preparation tips. It was an enriching experience worth every penny. The course was in English but Ronal had no problem answering each question in Spanish. Don't miss it!!

Great class and great teacher - Ronal is a great teacher and a very experienced cooker with a nice soul, the experience was wonderful and definitely worth it. We had a great onboarding in the local market of San Pedro, where he took some ingredients to let us taste Perù fruit, bread and cheese. After that we went back to the kitchen where we could chose which plate to cook, we took pisco sour, ceviche and causa. The result was great thanks to the instructions we received from Ronal and we tasted a very good dinner with the food we made. Definitely a must do in Cusco.
