Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Pumahuanca, 08125, Peru

On the first day of the trek, we’ll start in the small village of Pumahuanca in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. You’ll meet our amazing crew, including a herd of llamas, porters, a professional chef in Peruvian cuisine, and an emergency horse. We’ll gently make our way up one of the side valleys, covering about 14km in total and climbing about 1150m / 3373ft as we make our way towards the village of Cuyoc. Along the way, we’ll visit the small Inca site of Pumahuanca and learn about the native plants, flowers, and birds that inhabit this region. This route is not done by other companies, so we can enjoy the peace and tranquility of our surroundings. Because so few people visit the area, there is a good chance of seeing Viscachas (a kind of rabbit), and we may also spot Andean Fox. Our campsite for the night is at (4100m / 13451ft). It’s quite barren at this altitude, and it is not uncommon for it to snow up here during the dry season, so gloves and a hat are recommended.

Duration: 10 hours

Stop At: Lares, Lares, Cusco Region

DAY 2: CUYOC - YANACOCHA - CUNCANI - LARES

Today is the most impressive day of the trek and easier than yesterday. It’s a 19km walk to Lares Hot Springs, but mostly downhill after a 2-hour pass walk. We’ll see snow-capped peaks, mountain lakes, and meet the local Inca descendants dressed in bright red. We’ll learn about their culture and even some Quechua Inca phrases to communicate with them. After lunch, we’ll visit a local family’s house and get to know them. Later, we’ll hike to the Lares hot springs passing through small communities where people grow Quinua and Tarwi. We’ll camp right by the hot springs and relax in the hot pools. The activity is hiking from Unupunku to Lares hot spring, meeting the local Inca descendant community in Cuncani. Overnight at Lares hot springs (3200m 10464 ft). It takes approximately 7-8 hours of hiking time and is moderate-difficult. This is the highest point we will reach.

Duration: 10 hours

Later in the afternoon, you will take a train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes, also known as Machu Picchu Pueblo. The train ride takes about 1 hour and 40 minutes. Once you arrive at Aguas Calientes, check into your hotel for a comfortable overnight stay before visiting the magnificent Inca citadel, Machu Picchu.

In Ruben we trust - It was my very first time trekking in Peru 🇵🇪 but even I didn't know how to start it, Ruben have been so intelligent to arrange every single detail for this tour. We started with a well explained itinerary just a day before and we had all required even the soro hiq pills that I never imagined to use. I thought we required more than trekking boots and walking sticks but nothing else were needed because once more, Ruben took care of all this. At the end of the tour after 3 incredible days visiting archeological sites and beautiful views finally hi asked, are you ready to enter to mapi?? Our hearts stared to bump harder of emotion and the whole group answered yeahhh!! Thank you so much for that dear friend. Believeme guys. Just trust him!!!
