Highlights
  • Pisac - The town of Pisac is our first point of visit, which has a mestizo architecture built on indigenous remains by Viceroy Toledo. The archaeological complex that conforms Pisac would have been built during the 10th and 11th century, during the period of the Inca expansion and would have had urban and religious purposes.
  • Urubamba - Urubamba has beautiful views of the Sacred Valley, this will be our lunch and rest point to enjoy our Peruvian cuisine.
  • Archaeological Park Ollantaytambo - Ollantaytambo will be our third point of visit, this beautiful Inca city, which is still inhabited by the people of the area. Ollantaytambo constituted a strategic military, agricultural and religious center to administer and control this part of the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
  • Chinchero - The town of Chinchero will be our last point of visit, Chinchero was chosen by the Inca Tupac Yupanqui for the construction of his residence, years later the current Colonial church of Our Lady of Monserrat would be built.

The town of Chinchero is one of the few places in America where traditional fiber dyeing techniques are still used through dyes of vegetable, mineral or animal origin.

You will participate in a demonstration in which the villagers will show you these ancestral techniques.

Worth visiting - The Pisac Archaeological Park offers a deeply enriching cultural experience, complemented by the stunning natural scenery. It’s fascinating to learn about how the Incas cultivated and stored food, domesticated guinea pigs, and managed their work schedules. Another striking feature is the cliffside tombs visible across the river, where the burial holes carved into the cliffs are truly breathtaking. The surrounding mountains appear almost surreal, making you feel as if you’re the size of an ant, with gorgeous vistas that are a feast for the eyes. I strongly recommend visiting with a guide to fully appreciate the rich history and stories of this site. Don’t forget to wear sunscreen; despite the cloudy weather, we ended up with quite sunburned ears. Pisac is undoubtedly a must-visit for anyone interested in the grandeur of nature and the ingenuity of Inca civilization.

Small town - A nice quaint town on the first stop of our tour. There is one street of vendors selling local gifts. This is a place that can be visited in a couple of hours.
