Highlights
  • Cerro Colorado Vinicunca - We will pick you up from your Cusco hotel at 5:00 am. Then we will drive to the town of Cusipata, located in the South Valley of Cusco, where we will have breakfast. Then we will drive for around a hour to the starting point of our adventure.

The trek to Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain is full of amazing landscapes. You will see some highland farms scattered around the place, with numerous herds of llamas and alpacas.

After hiking for almost 3 hours, we will reach the summit of the Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain. Its colorful appearance contrasts with the surrounding areas. Experts affirm that the colors of Vinicunca come from mineral deposits which were lay up by the nearby glaciers. According to the locals, in the past Vinicunca was under a thick layer of snow, and just in recent years its unusual colors became visible.

After spending some time, we will go back to Cusipata, where we will have lunch. Finally, we will back at Cusco at around 6:30 pm.

Excellent service - Incredible service, I especially thank Mateo who was the one I had contact with all the time, he shared the itinerary for the next day every day and always followed up on my trip, I did not have the pleasure of meeting him in person or even getting to know the agency, but For all those who are looking to get to know Peru and are from another country, I can guarantee that this is a safe agency with the lowest prices. I found them on Google Maps and from there I tend to search, compare and investigate all the places and people where I go. and they are the ones whose website is up to date, their phone numbers match those on Google and Facebook and even LinkedIn. As for the tours, they are the few and possibly the only ones that have all the tours, but with them they have an agreement with other agencies outside of Cusco, even, they manage everything, the tour that you can think of or that you saw on a TikTok, they have it. , it can be a trip as elaborate and complete because you don't like to plan your trip or as specific as you are looking for, in my case I arrived directly to Cusco, but they coordinated 5 daily tours for me, I rented my accommodations because my partner and I tend to to be a little specific about where we like to sleep, as for the daily activities, trust them completely, they include breakfast, meals, transportation and guide, they explain what the tours include beforehand and give it to you in pdf so you can review it how many times you need and there it indicates what it includes and what you have to pay separately, again they are the cheapest I found and I am grateful for choosing them because my trip was perfect, I recommend staying in a hotel in the center because all the tours end there and you can leave walking to your hotel or occupying the rest of the day since they start at 4-5 and end between 4-7 p.m., they vary depending on the tour and the group you get, most of the attractions are far away and therefore the time at which They begin, my respects to Rodrigo by the way, one of the most organized guides I have ever met, the truth is that he leaves a very high standard in what one now expects from guides. To book it was through Western Union, I wish they could work with PayPal because the commissions are much lower as an issuer and easier to do online since WU does not accept all countries like Mexico for online shipments, we were about to cancel for that reason but the commission of the few places that make shipments through WU in Mexico was approximately $35 and turned out to be lower than the cost of the tours with other agencies that we quoted.

Organizative failure - We booked Samex tours because of the 5-star reviews, but it didn't work out. We booked with them 2 tours. For the first one, we were given a pickup time window but on the morning of departure, the guide called asking us to go to a meeting point (not far) earlier than the given time, which left us little time to get ready. Let's say this was just a small communication mistake. The 2nd tour was a disaster. Nobody contacted us as promised, we waited after the deadline of meeting time... Finally the guide came to get us and led us to a van that was already full! It seems that some people registered of 2 but arriving in 4! After 20 minutes squeezed in, we were moved to another van of a bigger group. The guide said that they had 3 vans on that day to do exactly the same tour, just different vans. Later we found out that it was a lie: the 2nd van was of another agency Tinkuy organizing a tour package for a group of local tourists (so we were 2 intruders) and they had nothing to do with the 1st van. Actually we had never met the 1st van anymore and we came back almost 3 hours earlier than the itinerary... Maybe we just had bad luck but such an incident at 4:30 am ruined the day and mistakes on 2 days in a row were too much, considering the fact that we booked the tours over 4 months in advance to secure good services... The worst experience ever
