- Nitmiluk (Katherine) Gorge - There is no better way to experience Katherine Gorge (Nitmiluk) than with the NitNit Dreaming boat cruise. On the NitNit Dreaming cruise, you will travel through the middle of cliff faces 70m high as the sun’s natural lighting changes the colours of the landscape and rock formations as you travel through the gorge.
- Edith Falls - Edith Falls (Leliyn), with its huge natural plunge pool, is a great place to take a refreshing dip or simply relax and enjoy your surroundings. (*swimming is subject to seasonality) Views over the escapement can be seen from several lookout points along the walk
- Darwin - After enjoying an action-packed day of natural beauty, we slowly make our way back to Darwin arriving sometime between 7:30pm and 8:00pm.

Immerse yourself in the lore of the land’s original inhabitants, the Jawoyn people of Katherine, as you explore this impressive site. Afterwards, we travel to the beautiful Edith Falls (Leliyn).*Based on the schedule of the boat cruise, Edith Falls (Leliyn) may be visited either before or after the Katherine Gorge (Nitmiluk) boat cruise. Our trip concludes with a leisurely journey back to Darwin.
- A minimum moderate level of fitness is required to complete the walks.

Our main meeting point for this tour will be outside the entrance to the Travelodge Darwin, 64 Cavenagh Street at 6.30am. Please wait out the front gates and not in the hotel foyer, to avoid missing the bus.

Best Company & Tour! Add it to the list of activities to do - 10/10 recommend this tour! Autopia is a brilliant company that offers a smaller group experience, a well-planned itinerary, friendly and approachable staff and guides. This tour we had 10 people with 3 guides, Becs, Rick and Tom. They each bought their own flare to the tour, and made it the greatest day. Having 3 guides was a blessing at Edith Falls, with some staying in the lower pool while the rest trekked the 1.2km to the waterfall for a swim. Despite the day being long, it was well paced and planned with time focused at the attractions. I will definitely be booking future tours with this company again!

Katherine Gorge and Edith Falls day trip from Darwin - Although a long drive to get to Katherine gorge once we arrived it was so worth it. We were awestruck by its beauty and felt like we were in a very special place. Our friendly driver Rick also guided us to the beautiful Edith falls where the perfect swimming spot awaited us. He also took us to some great taverns on the way home so we could celebrate the ending to a great day with a cold beer or two. Highly recommend this trip.

Katherine Gorge Tour. (Autopia. Small group tours) - The Katherine Gorge , Edith Falls trip, one of beauty and education. A trip worth the early start and late end (this one is a not to miss experience). Our Bus driver / tour guide Elliot was full of fantastic local knowledge, with information of indigenous usage for the plants for food and medicine.

Nitmiluk National Park - It’s a big day in terms of travel time. Better to do it on a tour than self drive. However the beauty of Leliyn (Edith Falls) and Nitmiluk National Park are a must see.

Amazing Katherine Gorge - Awesome day, our guide was knowledgeble and the day ran smoothly. The Gorge was magnificent and to see the aboriginal artwork was amazing. We were able to swim in a little area just off the gorge which was perfect way to end the day.

Fantastic - This was a great day, very long - but this we were aware of and prepared for. The bus was comfortable and air conditioned. Plenty of opportunities to stretch the legs along the way.
Unfortunately we were unable to swim due to crocs, but still enjoyed the day as a whole. Our guide Danny, was exceptional. She really knows her stuff and we got so much out of it due to her local knowledge and commentary. I was really impressed that although tour numbers were below minimum, Autopia honoured to the trip and sent along 4 guides in training.
Edith falls was underwhelming, however the Katherine Gorge cruise made up for it in spades with its spectacular scenery. Had a wonderful day!

Worth doing this tour - Katherine Gorge Tour was excellent on our 2 Gorge tour.
Although at the end of the wet season water was muddy but that is this time of year.

Not a great experience - Katherine Gorge is beautiful and well worth a visit. We, unfortunately, chose Autopia Tours which was not a good choice. We were picked up at our hotel at 6am and returned at 8:30pm that night - a very long day. We had a 10 minute stop on the way to Edith Falls for a toilet break. We had three staff on the bus, 2 plus the bus driver. None of the staff seemed to know any of the walks at Edith Falls and were very disorganised. We were basically left to our own devices and told to be back at the bus in an hour. There was limited food available (especially as I am Coeliac and require gluten free). We were told we would have an hour at Katherine Gorge to have lunch before our cruise. We arrived at Katherine with 15min to spare and told to 'grab something to eat' which was impossible as the staff at the Aboriginal Centre were overloaded and didn't have time to prepare any food in the time given. After our trip on the river (which was wonderful), we hopped on the bus for the return journey, again having only 10min toilet stops on the way. We arrived back to our hotel after a 14.5 hour day, hungry and tired. Thankfully we had snacks in our bags to sustain us.
