Highlights
  • Samsara - For a spa experience with a difference, a natural mud bath at L’eau Michel Mud Volcano in southern Trinidad should be your next destination. Unlike other mud volcanoes in Trinidad, the mud at L’eau Michel is semi solid and liquid enough for visitors to soak in. The mud flows out through active vents in a slow circular fashion over an area of approximately an acre. The mud here is not hot despite what the term ‘volcano’ might suggest. On the contrary, the mud is cool and smooth to the touch and so dense it keeps you a float.

Visitors frequent the volcano to picnic and enjoy the mud bath. This is usually followed by a short 30-minute hike to the southern coast to L’eau Michel Beach for a refreshing sea bath

A unique and fun experience - Denton our tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable. He went above and beyond to explain the history of the regions we were passing through. We got to try aloo pie, roti and mangoes. And while it wasn't our first time trying these things they were definitely tasty. You can tell from his enthusiasm he loves and takes pride in his country. But please learn from my mistake and wear sneakers. Not sandals, slippers or crocs...sneakers. the hike to the beach is muddy and slippery you can fall!!

Amazing! Highlight of trip! - Ari was the most amazing tour guide we ever had. We were so skeptical when he picked us up with the truck but later figured out why. Definitely a highlight of the trip. Our group got history and science lessons from him :) he also got us fresh coconuts

A fun, must do activity! - A very fun experience! We werent sure what to expect but this seemed like a fun thing to do on our honeymoon. We were not disappointed. Our tour guide Denton was very knowledgeable about the local area. The hiking, the mud, the snacks all made for a very memorable experience! We've already reccommended it to friends!

Great guide, great experience - Nick was a great guide, very knowledgeable and fun to hang out with. I didn’t realize I’d enjoy the mud so much, but the total buoyancy was amazing. We were never rushed, and after a long time in the pool we hiked to the gorgeous beach. Highly recommended

Mud, YES! - Nick is amazing, let me start there! He communicated with me through the entire experience and answered all my questions. It rained for 3 straight days in Trinidad during the "dry" season (keep this information for later), the activity was on that 3rd day. The roads were muddy due to all the rain so we had to walk the rest of the way to the location. By walk I mean sliding and watching for our friends do the same then barreling over in laughter as we pushed through. We made it to the mud volcano, it was only our group and we had a ball. It was like a private spa on a tropical island. The hike to the beach is very beautiful if you take time to enjoy your surroundings. Of course the beach is great and we had that to ourselves as well. Many kudos to Nick, I can't say enough nice things about him. He kept us entertained and took pictures so we didn't get our phones dirty. This is a once in a lifetime experience you must try. Special shout out to Keller who provide the transportation services, he is a riot.

Awesome tour - Mr. NiCk was a great tour guide. He was very fun , knowledgeable and he made sure we had a great time and got our moneys worth. He was a great photographer. He picked us up from private home, drove 2 hours to volcano, then you can stay in the volcano for how long you want after you take a hike to the beach and relax. During that time he took awesome pictures of us. Last you have to take a hike back to the volcano area where the car is parked and after he takes you to a nice place to get dinner/ lunch. ( we went to an Hilal bbq pit and the food was delicious).

Very muddy - We had to walk 2 km from the car to the volcano - hiking boots would have been better for that - and it was 4 km to the beach, which we didn't know beforehand. The beach was very littered and our tour guide didn't make any effort to collect rubbish. The volcano itself was a good experience
