  • Pennsylvania Street - Millionaire’s Row, this is the most haunted street in Denver. These historic mansions act as a facade for restless spirits. In the late 1800’s the wealthy of Denver flocked to “Millionaires Row” on “Quality Hill,” where they outdid each other, constructing luxurious mansions. Architecture that incorporated a variety of classical styles was noted for its flamboyance became known as the “Denver Style.” Each owner whimsically added turrets, spires and porches and the finished home rarely bore any resemblance to the original design. We will look at these beautiful homes that still remain and you will hear the history and stories associated with them and the echoes of the spirits that are said to dwell here.
  • Capitol Hill Mansion Bed & Breakfast Inn - This beautiful, historic property is a photographer’s dream. Illuminated lighting gives this place an ethereal feel. Located in the most haunted neighborhood in Colorado, this place has a story to tell and I will tell them… This elegant Richardsonian Romanesque and Queen Anne residence was one of the last homes constructed before the Silver Crash of 1893.
  • 1165 Pennsylvania St - The Pennborough, once twin mansions, they were purchased by the infamous Dr Tilden, and a wing built to join them and the entire complex then served as a tuberculosis home. I shall tell the stories of the strange goings on here.
  • Patterson Inn - Also known as the The Croke-Patterson Mansion, this is the second of the two most haunted houses in Denver. Get comfy on this corner because there are so many tales to tell, so many restless spirits to speak of…
  • Colburn Hotel & Apartments - If these walls could talk…this place was the epicenter of Denver’s former bohemian period. This former hotel became the playground of the Hollywood elite, as well as eccentric poets, such as Jack Kerouac (famous writer of the book and movie, entitled “On the Road”), Neil Cassidy, Allen Ginsberg, and James Burroughs. Stories of haunts are often talked about, by former and current employees of the notorious Denver bar, Charlie Brown’s, which is located on property. Since 1928 this bar has virtually stayed the same. This is one of the favorite stops for the likes of Bill Murray and Tony Bennett. I shall tell you all the history and stories about this place and our tour ends here… may I suggest a cocktail in the haunted bar…

Additional Information

We will uncover the historic tales etched into the streets around the State Capitol, once trod by Denver’s societal elite who built their stately homes here. Our journey takes us through Millionaire’s Row, includes a peek into Molly Brown’s life, and even ventures into Denver’s two ‘most haunted’ houses. Prepare to savour the spine-chilling anecdotes of those who once resided here… and those who never left.

For many years, I was intimately connected to these stories through my job at Fairmount Cemetery, managing its flower shop formerly situated in the old train station building, the arrival point of grieving visitors. Wealthy Denverites have left sizeable funds for the eternal upkeep of their final resting places. I’ve listened to their life stories and their history - I feel a personal connection to them. Join me as we traverse the streets they once called home and I share the historical knowledge I’ve absorbed and riveting tales I’ve collected…
