Wonderful experience - Me and my son absolutely loved this experience. The sommelier gave us a private tasting with education for 2 hours (since we were the only ones there). He was so knowledgeable and had a great love of wines. I will never look at, smell or taste wines the same after this! We learned so much and the wines we tasted were absolutely delicious. A whole new world of smells and flavors opened up for us. This was an experience I’m still thinking of. Thank you!!!

Great first stop in Dijon - Matthieu was excellent. We learned a lot about the Burgundy area, the main wines (Chardonnay and Pinot Noir), pairings with the different wines and the different Appellations of Burgundy. We blind tasted several wines and everyone gave their thoughts, likes and dislikes. Matthieu guided the conversation and gave expert input on everyone's inputs. A wonderful time for sure!

Well worth it. - What a fun time. The Wine Compass was just a 15-minute walk from our hotel. Matthieu was informative, friendly and funny. The class provided good context for us since we were about to spend six days in Burgundy. Not intimidating for novices! We had a good time.

A short but effective course in why Bourgogne is a wine Mecca. - Our host was so patient with us and respected what knowledge base we brought with us. In the end, we learned a lot in a short time. We thoroughly enjoyed the lessons and the selection of wines he chose from the region. Highly recommend this master class to any visitor who doesn't have all day to visit vineyards but still wants a solid introduction to both Bourgogne's famed white and red wines.

We learned s lot! - Today, we enjoyed Matthieu's Burgundy Wine Masterclass. It was a very enlightening, interesting dive into the vagaries of wine classification in this ancient wine growing region. But, as Matthieu said, it all comes down to the taste and how you like it. He spent a lot of time on the smells of the wine, more than anyone else has, and really helped us identify and define the scents to be found in a glass of wine and how they change as the wine ages over years or even in the few minutes after opening the bottle. We've dabbled around with wines from many regions around the world and visited many wineries, but are new to the Burgundies. Thanks to Matthieu, we now know much more about wines from this special little wine region and about all wine in general.
