Highlights
  • Black Virgin Mountain - Pick-up at 6am. Have breakfast at a local restaurant then proceed to Black Lady Mountain, approximately 3.5hrs to the Northeast of Tay Ninh. Black Lady Mountain consists of three major mountains covering an area of 24 kilometers and reaching an altitude of 986 meters. Conquering the 986-meter-high mountain, the highest in the nation’s southeastern region, might be a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The beautiful temples and caves at Black Lady Mountain used to house Buddhist monks and nuns remain largely undisturbed. Soaring on the cable car, we can take a panoramic view of a waterfall under the glistening sun, mysterious caves and dense forest.
  • Cao Dai Temple - We move to Cao Dai Temple is like a Walt Disney fantasia of the East. Its exterior is decorated with multi-colored dragons of all shapes and sizes competing for space with a number of swastikas. Above the main entrance is the all-seeing holy eye, the symbol of the Cao Dai sect. The interior is just as engaging as statues of Jesus Christ, Buddha and the Hindu god, Brahma, stand side by side.
Cao Dai Temple is the eclectic mix of colours and the amazing use of architecture create a space of beauty, spirituality with a somewhat surreal flavour to western palates!

For the midday service which was unbelievable in Cao Dai Temple - do not miss this!

  • Cu Chi Tunnels - After you have a lunch, we will leave Tay Ninh and travel to Cu Chi Tunnel. Once in Vietnam, you must visit this spot. This is where guerilla warfare optimized and exemplified. You’ll learn the clever design of the tunnels and the strategic use of trap doors. Even with B-52 bombers dropping 30-ton loads of explosive, turning the jungle into a pockmarked moonscape, 30 thousand American troops failed to conquered the area! You’ll have a chance to crawl around a portion of the 121 km long, multiple-layered tunnel. You’ll learn how thousands of guerillas managed to stay underground many days at a time, also their great technique to conceal smoke from their cooking. There’re a lot more to enjoy, even a chance to fire real AK bullets…

Amazing experience!! - Booking was easy. The Vietfun customer service followed through all the way via WhatsApp. Pick up was on time and easy. The tour guide (Ben) was superb. Very informative, attentive and speaks good English. At the end of the tour, he even bought everyone fruits (custard apples) with his own money!. 1st stop at Chu Chi was a very eye opening experience on Vietnam War. 2nd stop at Cao Dai where we get to see noon time prayers. Very interesting. Guide was very helpful in explaining any queries and also took some group photos. Last stop was Black Virgin Mountain which was very magical. Worth visting!! Overall, 5 stars service to Vietfun and their free lance tour guide Ben! Will definitely book with them again in future!!

Great varied day trip in south Vietnam - With a group of 5 we discovered the beauty of the bo den mountain. The weather was great . There is a lot to see there. Very varied and very well maintained. The Cao dai temple was something totally new for me. And the tunnels were very impressive. The guide was very good . He had a lot of fun facts, good English , clear schedule. Good quality transport as well. You have to take into account 2 to 3 hour travel by car single way . But it's worth it. Thanks a lot

Great combination of sites! - I highly recommend this tour! Our guide was very knowledgeable about history and funny. The first stop was completed in Jan 2024 and is remarkable- the Buddha’s and gardens were very well done. The temple is super unique and an opportunity to learn more about religion in Vietnam and multiculturalism. We are at a traditional restaurant for lunch. The tunnels are included in many other tours and also super interesting. I recommend doing these three together if you have time to visit the Mekong delta on another day.

Great trip with good place and professional services - The tour is great with a suitable route. We visited many places in Cu Chi and the fantastic Ba Den Mountain in Tay Ninh. Ba Den has such a great sightseeing with the whole view to Tay Ninh City. The tour guide is professional and full of enthusiasm. Highly recommended!

Amazing experience! - This trip was amazing. The whole day was just full of experiences and I would really recommend so this experience if you are interested in learning new things about religion and history. We booked our trip via Viet fun travel and we had Dinh as our tour guide. He was so attentive and consider all our needs, he made sure we saw it all. 10/10. It was our last day spent in Vietnam and it was a lovely last trip to end the vacation. Really worth it! I will book with this company again in the future!

Interesting tour, somewhat disappointing guiding - We booked the day trip of the Cu Chi tunnels and the Cao Dai temple directly on Viet Fun Travels’ website. Booking was easy and quick and we swiftly received a confirmation. We had to make a call to confirm pick-up at our hotel, but the pick-up was smooth and perfectly on time. Both the Cu Chi tunnels and the temple were worth a visit. We had a really joyful and enthusiastic guide, however, we tended to have a hard time understanding her english. It was also unfortunate that her guiding was limited to reading some printed slides out loud in the car and ushering us along the sights in a hurried fashion without much additional information. But besides this, she was a lovely lady that was always eager to help us take family pictures, which she later shared with us on whatsapp.

A 'guided' tour - Out of the three tours I did during my stay in Ho Chi Minh city, this was definitely the poorest one, mainly due to the guide's low level of English. The tour was definitely not what I was expecting based on the description, the reviews and the price. (I was the only non-Vietnamese speaker on my tour, which makes me wonder whether my tour got merged with a different one.) My interactions with the guide were limited to very basic practical information (e.g. meet back here at 12.30) at the first two stops. He had a small bit more to say in English at the final stop (cu chi tunnels), but his English was very limited. He spoke at length to the Vietnamese speakers at all three stops, so I felt I missed out on a lot of information. The three places were worth visiting, but non-Vietnamese speakers thinking of booking this particular tour should bear in mind that they might not actually get a guided tour in English. The two stars are for the locations themselves, not the 'guide'.
