Additional Information
The Communist guerrilla fighters, popularly known as Viet Cong, dug an extensive network of tunnels during the French occupation in the 1940s in order to protect themselves. This labyrinth of tunnels was hand-dug using basic tools, covering tens of thousands of miles and was further extended during the American War in the 1960s. Located 75 kilometers northwest of Ho Chi Minh city is one such elaborate network known as the Cu Chi tunnels. This network spreads across 250 km, consisting of tunnels and chambers, in the town of Cu Chi. The Viet Nam government has preserved this significant network of underground tunnels and it has now become a popular tourist destination.

Short and sweet! Highly Recommend! - Definitely worth visiting from Ho Chi Minh City.
Although it’s about a 1.5 hour drive each way, it’s a surreal experience worth making time for. Our tour guide ‘Bao’ was extremely knowledge and enthusiastic throughout and gave a lot of insight, which helped make the experience more immersive.
It’s crazy to see how the Vietnamese soldiers lived and survived during the war.
Personally I hid in the ‘secret tunnel’ (where you get the picture) and also crawled the full 100 metres worth of tunnel. I wouldn’t say it’s too claustrophobic between 60-100m, so if you’re on the fence about going the whole way, just do it!

Trip to Cu Chi Tunnels - Our guide Simon was incredible - Our guide Simon made the trip unique and one to remember. I have been to the tunnels twice, and Simon was experienced, informative, easy to understand and just a great guide. We really enjoyed our trip. If you are going to the tunnels I can recommend Simon and Kim Travel.

Simon great guide - Great tour and Simon was very good guide. Tunnels and shooting range were great experience. Water was provided and bus picked us up from hostel and dropped us back home.

Tunnels of Cu chi carries history! - The views were amazing. Mr. Larry did a great job guiding and walking us through the tunnel explaining and detailing the experiences to the best of his knowledge.

Rainy cuchi tunnels is not it - Ro was a great guide who tried his best to guide us at cuchi tunnels. Unfortunately it rained very heavily which led to the path being flooded and muddy which lessened the enjoyability of the tour.
