Highlights
  • Tien Giang Province - After a 2-hour drive, we will arrive at the Tien River and embark on a leisurely cruise to view four islets, each symbolizing one of Southeast Asia’s mythical animals: Dragon, Kirin, Tortoise, and Phoenix. Next, we’ll visit a honey bee farm to sample delicious honey tea with kumquat, known for its health benefits and refreshing taste. We can also stop by local homes with python farms to see and touch the giant pythons. Our journey continues to a coconut candy workshop, where you’ll learn to make these tasty treats by hand and, of course, sample your creations. On the Classic Mekong Delta 1 Day Tour, you’ll also experience the traditional folk music genre “Don Ca Tai Tu,” an essential cultural activity in the lives of the Mekong Delta people, recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Additionally, we can relax on a rowing boat through a mangrove palm canal and take an electric car to observe the most authentic local life.
  • Vinh Trang Temple - Vinh Trang Pagoda is the largest pagoda in Tien Giang, covering an area of 2000m2 with many beautiful trees. Originally a small leaf hermitage established in the early 19th century by District Chief Bui Cong Dat, it was expanded into a large pagoda named Vinh Trang Pagoda in 1849 by the Most Venerable Abbot Thich Hue Dang. After several changes in leadership and reconstruction, the pagoda now features numerous netlike panels, horizontal boards, and oblong boards with parallel sentences. The pagoda’s stunning architecture blends Chinese, Vietnamese, and Cambodian styles. Notably, the two triumphal arches are adorned with artfully inserted bottle and porcelain fragments, creating harmonious illustrations of Buddha’s legends. The pagoda has three entrances, with the central gate always closed and the side gates open, decorated with colorful porcelain mosaics depicting Buddhist folktales and natural scenery. The façade combines Asian and European architectural elements, including Renaissance influences, French decorative flowers, and Japanese enameled tiles. From a distance, the pagoda resembles the five towers of Angkor Wat. Surrounded by gardens of ornamental trees, ancient trees, and bonsai, the pagoda offers a tranquil atmosphere. It also served as a refuge for Vietnamese patriots and is recognized as a national historical and cultural relic by the government.
