Highlights
  • Museo dell’olio Sa mola de su notariu - Olio del Tempio - Embark on a journey at our advanced oil mill, where you’ll delve into the mysteries of olive oil production, a tradition we’ve for over 400 years. I’ll guide you through “sa mola de su notariu,” our museum dedicated to extra virgin olive oil. Here, amidst ancient equipment and stories, you’ll experience a time capsule of Sardinian culture, understanding olive oil’s pivotal role. Explore the old underground cistern—a magical repository of oil lamps and artifacts from centuries past.

The journey continues as taste. I will lead a tasting session where you’ll learn to discern the quality of extra virgin olive oil, an invaluable skill. Experience our olive oil’s complex flavors: fruitiness, bitterness, and spiciness. Try “Limolio,” our unique blend of organic olives and lemons, and “Rogo del Tempio,” our spicy oil with a bouquet of nine Sardinian herbs.

Enjoy this alongside a selection of cured meats, sparkling wine, natural olives, and carasau bread. We invite you to a sensory feast that celebrates the rich heritage of olive oil through sight, sound, touch, and taste.

Understanding the production and taste difference of olive oil - From this visit we learned a lot about oil and the distinction between quality oil and low-end industrial oil. The manager is passionate about what he produces and it shows in these explanations in French! We We enjoyed this visit, including our 9 year old daughter who loves olive oil!

Worth your time and money! It felt like I was part of the family! - The owner had a wonderful personality and was open to questions. He was very personable and witty! Tour was informative and told me all new information about olive oil production that I didn’t know. There was a couple there that didn’t speak English or Italian but their son did, so the owner even allowed them time to translate so the tour could be understood. The tasting session was amazing and now I’ll be taste-testing all the olive oil I buy. Great experience. Would definitely recommend.

Interesting little tour about the history of olive oil. - We knew nothing about olive oil until our recent visit here. The owner and his staff were brilliant, explaining everything about harvesting and processing the olive oil. We were taught how to taste the oil and what to expect when we did. The museum was interesting, giving a glimpse of the hard work it took to produce the oil in the past. Well worth a visit!
