Additional Information

Designated as a UNESCO site in 2020, the Hantan River area has been recognized for its diverse geological environment and ecosystem. The area was a battleground for the Three Kingdoms’ War, as well as the Korean War. In winter, when the river freezes, you can walk on the river.

Soyisan is a modest mountain. However, since Cheorwon is mostly broad plains, once you take the monorail to the top, you can view the DMZ with crisp air. The area recreates Cheorwon’s cityscape from the 1930s, making It feels like taking a time machine to travel back in time.

North Korea’s Labor Headquarters, also known as Nodongdangsa, was built by North Korea in 1946, a year after the end of Japanese colonization. It served as a tragic site where pro-democracy figures were imprisoned and exploited. During the Korean War, all the buildings in the area were destroyed except for this one. It is now a registered cultural heritage site.
