Great! - I had a very nice tour with our tour guide Sean. He introduced everyone by name and country. I came to this tour alone, but because of the introduction, I felt like I was part of a group. This tour had amazing views and lots of stories. Don't be too surprised if the tour lasts longer than 3 hours, Sean is so passionate about Howth that the storytelling will continue for a while. I didn't see it as a problem because I had the time to myself. If you want to know more about Howth and don't want to go on the touristic trail, you'll have to choose for Howth Adventures!

Best day in Dublin - Howth!! - I spent the week in Dublin, staying most of the time around the city center. On my last day, i took the Howth Coastal Hiking tour and it turned out to be the best day of my entire trip! First of all, its such an easy trip on the Green DART line to Howth - its the last stop and you cant miss it! The meeting point was directly across from the DART station, so it was such an easy meet-up for the hike. Howth is a beautiful fishing village with hills and cliffs..so close to Dublin City, but so completely different. Our wonderful tour guide, Dee, met us near the Howth Market, and led us through the village, then to the highest point in Howth, where we had panoramic views of Dublin Harbor and the surrounding areas (we could even see the mountains in Wicklow from the top). She told us about the history of Howth and tales of the Vikings and pirates and all of the people that had touched the shores of Howth over the centuries. She then led us down the cliffs, pointing out the different wildflowers and sea birds that lived along the shores. We ended up back in Howth Village, where all of us went our own ways down the Howth pier to enjoy a seafood lunch! I had red pepper soup and Black Sea Bass at Crabby Jo’s and it was delicious! I can’t wait to come back to Howth!

Howth hike - This was a highlight of our time in Dublin- and we had Taylor Swift tickets, so that’s saying something! Sean was a wonderful host, full of stories and history, and the route is just gorgeous. It is not too strenuous- we all did it in sneakers- but it’s enough so you feel you have earned the fish and chips. The video Sean created and shared at the was a lovely touch. Thanks so much!

At the gates of the Irish Sea - An idyllic setting at the gates of Dublin. The green trail was quite easy to pass, even for less athletic people. We recommend (for the more athletic) the small hook by the so-called secret beach (be careful however, the terrain can be slippery!)
