Dubrovnik Game of Thrones Tour

Embark on a 2-hour tour of Dubrovnik’s Game of Thrones filming locations, where you’ll get to see the most famous King’s Landing sites. Some tour guides, who were once Game of Thrones extras and stand-ins, might even share backstage stories and rumors.

Duration: 2 hours

Highlights
  • Dubrovnik Walking Tours - Our Game of Thrones tours start next to the Large Onofrio’s Fountain inside the Old Town (near the Hard Rock Cafe) where you’ll meet our representative holding a red umbrella with the Dubrovnik Walking Tours sign. Once the group gathers, our guide will introduce themselves, and we’ll embark on a 2-hour adventure visiting locations from our favorite TV show.

  • Pile Gate - From the meeting point, we walk towards the West entrance to the Old Town, Pile Gate. Here, we’ll revisit scenes from Seasons 2 & 3, including the royal procession where King Joffrey faces the jeers of the starving crowds, orders his outnumbered guard to execute the entire crowd, sparking a city riot, and Jaime Lannister’s return to the city with Brienne of Tarth, slipping in incognito.

  • Kolorina - The path under Pile Gate drawbridge leads to the docks of King’s Landing. Visit the beach where the royal entourage, including King Joffrey, Queen Cersei Lannister, Tyrion, and Sansa Stark, see off Princess Myrcella to Dorne. This is also where the Gold Cloaks were ordered to kill all of King Robert Baratheon’s bastards and where Tyrion discusses strategy with Lord Varys at Fort Bokar to win the battle of Blackwater Bay.

  • Dubrovnik West Harbour - On the way to the steep staircase to the Red Keep, we stop at one of the piers of Dubrovnik’s western bay. This location doubles for some of the Blackwater Bay and wildfire scenes in the show. It was also used for shots of Sansa and Shae talking on the pier about ships and future plans before Petyr Baelish (Littlefinger) arrives to tell Sansa about his plan to get her out of King’s Landing and back to her family.

  • Fort Lovrijenac - Fort Lovrijenac stands in for the Red Keep, a castle overlooking Blackwater Bay in King’s Landing, the capital of the Seven Kingdoms. It features the Great Hall, a massive throne room housing the Iron Throne, and serves as the residence of the King or Queen. Dubrovnik’s monumental fortress St. Lawrence (Lovrijenac) was used to film multiple scenes depicting the quarters and exterior of the Red Keep, including the Purple Wedding and the tourney on King Joffrey’s name day.

  • Old Town - Following the descent back to Old Town, the tour takes you through the streets of King’s Landing where the rebellion against Joffrey took place after he ordered his guard to execute the entire crowd. Discover the locations of scenes following the Purple Wedding, with Sansa fleeing to a ship off the coast, Jaime’s return to King’s Landing after his imprisonment, scenes of Littlefinger’s brothel, and where Tyrion speaks with Prince Oberyn Martell, the Red Viper of Dorne, who came seeking revenge.

  • Church of St. Ignatius of Loyola - We arrive at the site of the infamous Walk of Shame, a highlight of every Game of Thrones walking tour. In Westeros, it is a public ritual of punishment and penance in the Faith of the Seven. A confessed sinner walks a certain distance stripped of all clothing, exposed to the eyes and mockery of the population. After a period of imprisonment, Queen Cersei confesses to adultery. As she walks naked, she is accompanied by a Septa, repeatedly crying out “Shame!” and ringing a bell to attract attention. The best photo opportunity.

Great tour to sum up! - 很有趣的導覽,尤其是Jelena把權力遊戲各種拍攝期間的趣事跟當地人的視角融入在其中,就不講這部劇後來走向大家喜不喜歡,但能身歷其境還是覺得很感動! Fun and informative, love how Jelena incorporated local perspectives and anecdotes during the shooting of the series into the tour. Money well spent!

Jelena was brilliant! - Jelena took us around the city and was brilliant! Accompanied with photos of the scenes which lined up with the landscapes we could see, she talked us through the filming and offered stories from the perspective of the Dubrovnik community. Lots of walking and steps to get around, but definitely worth it for the wealth of information we got!

Explore King's Landing and discover Dubrovnik - Our tour guide, Helena, was as knowledgeable and as enthusiastic about Game of Thrones as any good fan should be. She showed us the Dubrovnik sites where GOT was filmed, gave background knowledge of cast (the paid film crew and the Croatian extras) and locations. She also added historical information about the location too. She was brilliant and the tour was worth every penny. King's Landing/Dubrovnik is beautiful 💗
