Your guide will give you a short tour of the city and visit Mahatma Gandhi’s statue by Pietermaritzburg City Hall. Afterwards the tour moves towards the Drakensberg Mountains and up to the Sani Pass in Lesotho. Passport required.
Please note that new regulations since Covid-19, that there will be 15 t0 20 minutes PCR test conducting at South African border and will be charged at R250 per person cash at your own expense

The Sani Pass Lesotho 4x4 tour departs from Durban and makes a stop at the capital of KwaZulu-Natal, PMB. Along the way, your guide will provide a brief city tour and take you to see Mahatma Gandhi’s statue near the Pietermaritzburg City Hall. The journey continues towards the Drakensberg Mountains, ascending the Sani Pass into Lesotho. Once at the summit, you’ll enjoy a meal at the highest pub on the continent and explore a traditional local village in Lesotho before descending the pass back towards Durban.
- Passport name, number, expiry and country is required at time of booking for all participants
- A current valid passport is required on the day of travel
- German and Polish languages can be requested (on request)

Incredible views and smooth organisation - Superb trip that took me through the mountains and the pass. I am so happy I joined. The booking and organisation was super smooth and Freddy was super patient and knowledgeable with all the questions and pictures.

Wonderful experience - Freedie picked us up from our accommodation and despite the long and demanding journey, we always felt safe and in good hands with him. Throughout the tour he answered our questions and shared his extensive knowledge with us. We had a wonderful day.

Absolutely amazing experience 💫 - Freddie was fantastic! Such a great day ,very much worth the time and money ! I was picked up by my hotel and it was a drive up to the highest point in Sani Pass and also the highest pub In Africa ! The ride is long but absolutely it:) Freddie was very knowledgeable, professional and got out of his way to show us everything and make sure we have a fantastic experience!

Great Tour - This was a remarkable tour. Freddy, our guide was the best. He allowed the tour to be "ours." We were able to stop and capture beautiful moments along the way and had an amazing adventure.

Great tour - Great tour !!! I liked everything, the Drakenberg mountains, the village and the highest pub in Africa !!!
On the downside, it seems the few villages behind the border get too much used to tourism and the highest pub in Africa doesn’t serve draught beer

Excellent birthday experience - I had an excellent day which happened to be my birthday driven by a very skilled and kind Thami. From being picked up from the hotel, comfortable trail truck and the majestic views, my experience exceeded my expectations . I would recommend this experience to everyone, you will not be disappointed.

Great trip! Would recommend! - This was a great tour. The views along the way are beautiful, but they really become stunning when you get to the pass. The tour guide, Frederick, was very knowledgeable and nice and was a great driver! The trip into Lesotho was good and the pub certainly not to miss!

Family tour to Lesotho via the SANI pass - We really enjoyed the experience, l will go back there anytime with Zulu safaris. They are amazing, the tour guides took their time to explain about the different places we went to. We took lots of photos, went to Africa’s highest pub and the cultural village.

The highest point=lowest satisfaction - From pick up at The Oyster Box the disappointment kept coming. We were told an extra R400 to be picked up there (it was on the included list) to my husband and I being separated in 2 different vehicles to having to buy our lunch at a grocery store instead of eating lunch at the highest point pub.
The actual climb up the pass and the view were amazing as promised
Customer appreciation was none. The driver of my car was on the phone the whole time making new reservations for the next days. I would not recommend this tour guide.
