They serve as the winter home for several rare bird species, including flamingos and pelicans. Be warned, as it is a wetland area, there will be mosquitoes here!

Highlights
  • Durres Amphitheatre - Constructed at the start of the 2nd century AD, this amphitheater hosted performances until the 4th century AD.
  • Parku Kombetar Divjake-Karavasta - Situated within the Divjaka-Karavasta National Park, this lagoon has been designated as a wetland of international importance under the Ramsar Convention. BirdLife International has also recognized it as an Important Bird Area due to its support of significant bird populations. Notably, it is home to a colony of Dalmatian pelicans (Pelicanus crispus), numbering around 60-70 pairs, which constitutes 5% of the global population of this species.
