Highlights

This tour is 12 miles round trip on mostly traffic-free cycle paths. We use manual hybrid bikes, but if you would like an E-bike please tell me at time of booking and I shall reserve one for you. Please bring £20pp on the day to hire E-bike. No extra charge for manual bike. We shall head through the beautiful Craigmillar Park, home of Craigmillar Castle, before heading through the 19th Century Victorian Railway tunnel taking us into Holyrood Park and riding past our extinct volcano, Arthur’s Seat. We then head onto cycle paths all the way to the coast for coffee or Ice cream! This is perfect for families or those who want a gentle ride to the beach. We shall stop at historic sights and learn a little history about this ancient city. Weather in Scotland is changeable and we ride in the rain as this does not affect the tour. Great time! - Jenn was a phenomenal guide who made sure everyone felt comfortable with the pace of the group. She provided fun facts but also gave everyone an opportunity to chime in with guesses! We probably wouldn't of seen the beach without this tour! Definitely recommend for anyone.

Great guides - Excellent guides and well maintained bikes! It was a nice way to see the neighborhoods and Portobello Beach. We rode to the beach and enjoyed a nice long lunch. Enjoyed meeting and chatting the other travelers. The rose back seemed super quick!

Best way to experience Edinburgh - Had an amazing time biking and chatting with Jen and the other members of the tour. I was worried it would be awkward to do alone or maybe too intense of a bike, but it was just perfect! Very much enjoyed the brief stop we took at the water. I don't think I would have seen this whole side of Edinburgh if I hadn't done the tour and I'm so glad I did! It's a beautiful city and I had a lovely time. Thank you so much!

A lovely morning in Scotland. - The Wee Pedal Team was tremendous. They were very attentive and thorough while getting us outfitted with bikes and helmets; they shared interesting information while on the tour; and the were kind and thoughtful throughout. This was particularly so when one member of our group had some challenges riding. One member of the staff stayed with him at all times to make sure he was ok and to help him feel more comfortable riding. We really enjoyed getting to see Portobello beach.

An interesting , sociable cycle to the coast. - We cycled on cycle paths through a tunnel to the foot of Arthur’s Seat and then onto the coast for coffee and cake. This was part of Edinburgh that we wouldn’t have seen otherwise and was stunning . Leanne and Richard were lovely they took lots of photos which they shared and really looked after us. We cycled at a comfortable pace with lots of stops so this tour would be suitable for all abilities and ages . Would highly recommend this tour.

Perfect ride. - My 12 &15 yo and I did this ride. We were in our own small group. Our guide Richard was wonderful and shared really fun history and tailored it to my 12 yo. The ride was a nice pace and the weather perfect. I’d do this again in a heartbeat.

A Wee Pedal for the win! - We had a wonderful bike tour of Edinburgh with our guide, Jen. She was very knowledgeable and so much fun! We stopped for coffee and a snack at the beach on the North Sea, rode by Arthur's Seat and through a super cool tunnel. This was a great activity on our vacation, definitely a refreshing break from the normal tourist fare!

Good starter tour to the edge of Edinburgh - There are many "small" hills on this ride so I recommend upgrading to an e-bike if you don't want to exert yourself so much. The group is small and at some point ride on the road but otherwise there are dedicated bike paths. This route does NOT take you to the city centre if that's what you were looking for but rather to the coast at Portobello where you return via the same route. I would have enjoyed a new route back to see new things but alas, it was out and back the same way.

Comfortable short ride - This tour was nice and easy with a number of great views. Our guide, Carmen, was wonderful! She was extremely helpful to riders who didn’t have much experience, adjusted her speed to include everyone, and shared some fun facts about the route and places to see. Plus she was just a super sweet human anyone would be happy to meet! The only downside to the tour: the meeting point is a bit outside of the city center but easy to get to by foot (about an hour) or by bus (£2, ca 20 minutes). Would recommend!
