A playful ghost! - An interesting trip to a vault under the city. We’ve done a few of these tours in Edinburgh, there are lots of different areas of the vaults with varying companies getting access to different bits. This wasn’t the biggest section but was to see the children’s vault which was interesting. My husband got his shirt tugged by something in there which was interesting too because it wasn’t a negative space, more playful than sinister. Lafayette was an excellent tour guide and we enjoyed his take on things and his welcoming attitude. We would highly recommend this tour as, unlike others, it’s full of interesting true facts about our beautiful city.

A Masterclass in Ghost Touring - 100/10 recommend doing this tour, it will make your trip! The hilarious actor/ tour guide takes you on an entertaining and informational tour through some of Edinburgh's darkest events. Our favorite part was when we went underground to the old city remains of Edinburgh that are right underneath the Royal Mile.

Awesome ghost tour - Captain Gray was animated and very funny and knowledgeable. We throughly enjoyed our tour of the spirited areas of the city, especially the graveyards and the underground vaults .

Interesting - My guide was lovely, overall good experience. I was slightly disappointed about the vaults themselves. This being “famous” and saying it was the best was an overstatement. The vault we went into was cool and the info was great but there was only one… we were down there for max 10min out of an hour. I was expecting more vaults and less city walking

Not for the physical restricted people. - Seeing underground and hearing the history was our favorite part. They had to big of a group [30-40] so it was hard for guide to communicate with everyone while on the walking portion. I was on a cane and was unable to keep up so we drop out early on the tour and missed half of the tour.

Disappointing - We felt our tour guide Agnes tried however the event was a massive let down, only one small tunnel to visit along with a basement room. Then after that the graveyard visit, that anyone can walk around and with a bit of basic research learn about free of charge anyway. So it wasn’t worth the money, and we felt let down. Surprised how many positive reviews are on Trip Advisor for this. Looking at our group of tourists it was clear to see all we’re disenchanted and frustrated.

Not What We Expected - We completed this tour after a free tour the previous day (yes, we really enjoy walking tours!) and were incredibly disappointed. Our tour guide was “Dr Knox.” A certain level of respect should be expected on a tour and we found him to be rude. He swore constantly and singled out most members of the tour group, making fun of them — but often pushing the point too far. It all felt wildly unnecessary. We felt quite bad for several members of the tour group that he continually called out. The tour itself was more so focused on the guide than on the spaces we visited. We spent a small fraction of the tour in the vaults… the title is misleading. He also tried to speak while we were on the move, which made it difficult to hear. We understood that this was a ghost tour; however; the few historical facts that were raised were also inaccurate. If you are seeking a historical tour of the city, this is not the tour for you.
