Edinburgh Photography Tour - Martin was very helpful and patient guiding me throughout the tour and providing some essential tips. We spoke about my experience with photography and Martin tailored the tour to match my skills and educated me in the process. I was initially nervous about how this would go, but Martin ensured I could learn and also enjoy the tour, giving me feedback on the pics and making suggestions. Aperture Tours was very hands-on with their communication and follow-ups, asking questions about what I wanted to do. I highly recommend doing this tour irrespective of your photography skills, as Martin is great at offering help/advice.

We had a GREAT day and by the end I was much more comfortable with how to use my camera to get great memories! - Our guide Martin was amazing!!! We didn't know what to expect but had concerns that we would be stuck with an arrogant photographer that just barked out orders and told us what pictures to take. This was absolutely NOT the case. Martin was VERY engaging and very easy to work with! I loved that he started the day with a quick sit down to get to know us and find out what our goals were for the day and what we hope to learn. He made the day very fun and educational! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!

Absolutely a highlight of my trip to Edinburgh!! - This was a fantastic photography tour/lesson. Martin is such a good teacher - patient, encouraging, knowledgeable, ensuring that you develop the tools to stand on your own and continue to take better photos than you did before. He’s also lovely; positive and supportive. I’d recommend anyone to book this tour as Martin meets you where you are and brings you forward. I’m really happy with both what I’ve learned and the photos I have from this tour. If this is what Aperature tours are like, I’ll be booking more in other cities as well.

Martin S. is a great guide & teacher! - I was happy to have two separate tours (one daytime & one nighttime) on the same day with Martin S. He was extraordinarily accommodating, knowledgeable, personable, and when we hit a goodly bit of rain and fog, pivoted without issue.
I am an advanced(?) amateur and he really helped me dust off the cobwebs of the basics and taught me so much that I'll be practicing and using going forward.
When a guide is willing to stand with his hand over your lens for long periods of time to avoid you getting water on the lens, that's just above & beyond!
I would highly recommend Martin S. and hope to take another tour with him the next time I'm in Edinburgh. I cannot recommend him enough!

Great day in Edinburgh with a very friendly and experienced guide - I got this tour as a gift to my girlfriend who has been looking to get more into photography. Our guide Martin was incredibly friendly and taught us so much while keeping the tour personal and tailoring it to what we wanted to do. We both learned so much and now look at the city differently when looking for photos to take.

Awesome - Martin was a pleasure to work with. He took me to some excellent vantage points and helped with my creative style which was appreciative. Although it was raining off and on we were able to get some exceptional pictures!

Highly recommend for Photographers - I can not say enough regarding the tour that I did with my instructor Martin. First this company was spot on with the description about the tour and what I would do. They provided me with all the necessary information and at the end of the tour provided a booklet regarding photography.
Martin my instructor was outstanding. Before we began we sat down to discuss my expectations and what I wanted to learn. It was an amazing evening experiencing and capturing the night scenes of Edinburgh.
The photos I shared are ones just from my iPhone as the true gems are on my memory cards in my camera. I have to wait till I get home for those.
I highly recommend this tour especially if you are a photographer. I learned so much in such a short time.

Highly recommend this tour! - We highly recommend this tour!! Martin was wonderful, he was very knowledgeable, friendly and really wanted us to have a great tour. The weather was dreadful, cold and rainy, and Martin went out of his way to teach us different photography settings and how to use them effectively. Martin made sure we were happy with the experience and photos before we were done.

Prompt, Personable and Professional Photography Location Tour in Edinburgh! - 5 of 5! Martin was prompt, personable and professional. He initially sat with my wife and I and we discussed my expectations for the tour. He discussed a plan for the time we had and made sure it was what I expected. We spent the three hours together walking through Edinburgh. Martin gave great location tips for a potential image and then stepped back to let me shoot…exactly what I wanted. Highly recommend Aperture, I have used the in Paris on three occasions and now in Edinburgh.
