It begins with a visit to Punta Walichu, site archaeological located 8 km from the town, you can see the traces of the first men who walked these lands. A walk along the eaves and caves will allow you to observe cave paintings (originals and reproductions) as well as a exceptional view of Lake Argentino and the Andes mountains. The circuit also goes through the main streets of the old town, showing the typical first constructions of the pioneers, as well as the downtown buildings current civic. 17 There will be a visit to the Coastal Walk and the Bahía Redonda, a few meters from the shore of the Argentino Lake, where you can see the abundant local birdlife. As a last stop, at the Center of Historical Interpretation will be observed, through of a self-guided tour, the most important facts historical relevance from the ice ages to the present.

We were able to visit... - We were able to visit sites we’d have not seen on our own and learn some interesting history about Calafate.

The time for our tour was changed to... - <p>The time for our tour was changed to later in the afternoon than we had booked, which meant it had to be shortened a bit because we had a dinner engagement already planned. However, our guide was very good and covered the high points and history of the town in the time available. And since it ended up being a private tour, we were able to go fairly quickly. I do think it would be a good idea to add the "Ice Museum" to the tour, as most people who have been there think it adds a lot to understanding the glacial history of the area.</p>

I chose such a tour to see Laguna... - <p>I chose such a tour to see Laguna Nimez but then I realized it was not included. By the way the guide was very nice and suggested me a great restaurant for dinner with Laguna Nimez view.</p>
