Mariposa surprise - Such a cool place to see many species of both butterflies/moths but also their just plants. They have volunteers helping to guide you through portions and then there's a larger amount of self-guided area for you to explore. Great for solo travelers and groups, including high

Great family fun - A really enjoyable family experience at a good price with knowledgeable staff. I would really recommend taking the jungle river walk at the end of the butterfly tour as it’s so pretty.

Incredible butterfly sanctuary - Incredible haven of peace where a multitude of species of butterflies and turtles live and breed. It is simply magical! It’s impressive to see how hard the manager has worked to create this place from scratch. Bonus: we even had a guided tour in French! Must do

Beautiful and Serene! - This butterfly conservatory is a hidden gem. We had a tour with the volunteer who was very enthusiastic about the butterflies . We went to three different houses to represent three different regions in Costa Rica. We had an opportunity to see the frogs and turtles as well. After this wonderful guided tour, we had a walk-through the rainforest Trail, which was just lovely. When you visit this place, you can also visit a nice restaurant and get a beautiful view of the valley. It’s worth the trip and was very quiet.

Great educational place - The volunteer that took us through the butterfly and frog habitats was extremely informative. There's a short path and a long path around the rest of the place. We took the short path and unfortunately didn't see any other animals. But it was a great way to spend a few hours and get great pictures!

Superb - The conservatory was amazing. There was a volunteer that took us around and spoke about the various butterflies and frogs. We would have loved to spend more time there but worth spending two or three hours there easily.

Butterfly’s and Frogs OhMy!!! - Great volunteers, exceptional work being done by many! Interesting, magical and educational. We loved our tour and walk through the property. Reclaimed ranch land turned into a butterfly and frog sanctuary. Must see!

Butterfly beauties - We did this as a last minute, our-plans-changed-for-the-day-so-what-will-we-do-now? Kind of thing and I’ll tell you what, we loved it! The tour is about 1 hour round trip and takes you through some beautiful rainforest areas (thankfully for our preferences, we didn’t see any snakes/creepy insects), as well as 3 huge butterfly buildings that are FILLED with beautiful butterflies! We marveled at all the different kinds for quite some time, before moving on to the Frog house where there were two very knowledgeable staff members on hand to tell us about each one. It was overall a really nice experience - long drive up a windy, quiet hill - but I would definitely recommend.

Expensive but excellent - This is an excellent place and SHOULD be well worth a visit. So why give it three stars???? The owner is a very fine fellow from the USA and gives a great introduction to this excellent facility before you take your semi-self guided tour. What kills it is Costa Rica pricing. I’m sorry to say this is twice the price it is worth and and probably three times the price it should be. £50 for the two of us for just over an hour is too much. It was no wonder it was not busy. We love what you do there but for mere mortals like us it is just far to expensive.
