Amazing week-long stay in and around Algiers - With my 92-year-old mother and my 25-year-old daughter, we made an incredible week-long stay in and around Algiers. We lived extraordinary moments and very rich in emotion thanks to the agency Riwaya Travel which made this trip possible, to Sadek, colorful character who showed us the casbah and Bab El Oued, and especially thanks to Zinou, our driver, guide, Sherlock Holmes who knows Algiers as his pocket, accompanied us during these 6 days and allowed us to find all the places that my mom wanted to see again, and the list was long! So yes Algiers is a polluted and noisy city but everyone we met was incredibly kind and welcoming. "Welcome to Algeria or Welcome home" were always their first words. And Algiers and its surroundings are of definite tourist interest. Algiers is a happy mix of Ottoman palaces, Hausmannian-style buildings and Muslim architecture with its mosques. And the monastery of Tibhirine, the ruins of Tipasa or the tomb of the Christian are definitely worth a visit, not to mention the delicious cuisine we enjoyed during our stay. I sincerely recommend anyone who wants to (re)discover this beautiful country to make this trip with Riwaya and Zinou, we came back enthusiastic!

Memorable days and new friends in Algiers - I had the best experience traveling to Algiers on a whim where Zinou, the owner of this agency Riwaya, pulled out all the stops to organise a memorable three days for me. I had first and subscribed to “The Essentials of A Local Expert in a Private Day”, and they gave me Rym, one of the most intelligent tour guides who spoke impeccable English and took me around the Kasbah and to the botanical gardens (must go) as well as the museum of fine arts and the memorial. I then asked if Rym and the driver, Yazid, could accompany me on an additional two days, first to Tipaza and then Djemila, which Zinou organised for me. We had many great conversations in the car and Rym was simply the most personable guide one can find anywhere. She is highly experienced with American and other tourists. We had great fun together! I must also say that Zinou organised some of the most memorable lunches featuring local cuisines in small restaurants. I simply soaked it all in. There were small things like taking the subway instead of waiting for the driver but if you are willing to roll with the flow this is a good team I will recommend anytime.

Excellent experience with Riwaya Travel - I recently visited Algiers with Riwaya Travel, and it was fantastic! Zinou The attendant was incredibly knowledgeable, passionate and very friendly. The tours were well organized, with a beautiful discovery of the Casbah, the gardens of El Madania, and local souks, and the evening of the end with a musical group of CHAABI we danced to fatigue, everything was perfect, from the welcome to the management of the trip. I highly recommend this agency for an authentic experience in Algiers! PS: And the 5 Stars I really think, they deserve them.
