On the 24th day of October, 79 AD, Vesuvius awakened from a deep slumber. The ensuing eruption was catastrophic, leading to the obliteration of the historic Roman cities - Pompeii and Herculaneum.
Uncovered in the 18th century, Herculaneum has since become a renowned archaeological hotspot. At present, Herculaneum boasts noteworthy sights such as the house featuring the mosaic atrium, the house of the deer, the Thermae of the Decumanus Maximus, the house boasting the Neptune and Amphitrite mosaic, all of which are a must-see.
The size of Herculaneum is less than Pompeii, hence, it can be explored in around ninety minutes. This experience includes a pickup from Naples and guided commentary in English.
