Additional Information

Experience the authentic flavors of Ericeira on this exclusive culinary walking tour guided by a captivating storyteller.

The most effective way to delve into our culture, in my opinion, is through our traditional food and wines as we gather around a table, exchanging tales, gaining insights into our heritage, savoring our local specialities and indulging in exemplary Portuguese wines.

Explore the historical significance of the Ericeira fishing port and comprehend how artisanal fishing is deeply linked to the local persona and the inception of this community. Fathom how the fishermen’s beach has emerged as a significant spot in Portuguese history and how tourism and the designation as a ‘world surfing reserve’ have reshaped the local socio-economic and cultural landscapes.

On this gastronomic exploration, we’ll visit 5 distinct locations, sampling and deciphering the origins of local culinary culture. Enjoy local treats, ranging from piping hot muffins that bear the village’s name, to delectable classics at a native restaurant, with visits to our fresh market and a meal at a fisherman’s club.

So much more than simple tasting...wow!!!! - Angelo was incredible! His passion for food and Ericeira were so evident - his desire to make sure we loved it all, as well! Our tastings were very tasty but more importantly, they were steeped in Ericeira tradition and culture. We experienced a "grilled fish in a fisherman's club that exceeded any expectation- and the abundance of treats...wow! Angelo was also excellent with his English and good conversation. A highlight of our trip, for sure! Angelo then followed up with details of our stops and tastings - and advice for what to do in other parts of Portugal! Huge thank you to Angelo.

Amazing food tour in Ericeira - My husband and I spent an amazing day on a foodie tour with Angelo on our vacation in Ericeira. Angelo not only took us to amazing places to try local delicacies ( the fresh and delicious fish in front of sea was amazing), but he also combined the tour with a history lesson about this small and enchanted village. I really loved this experience. I highly recommend this tour with Angelo for sharing his love of food, enthusiasm and passion for Ericeira, and his natural ability to make you feel within minutes that you are an old friend.

Would give 100 stars if I could - Angelo was an amazing tour guide for me and my boyfriend during our short stay in Ericeira. His knowledge of the village, its history and culture and the explanations about its local gastronomic roots were incredible. The selection of food and wine tastings was divine (convent pastry, savory, cheeses, regional bread, wines). Our time flew by as we walked along the narrow cobbled streets learning about the history and interesting facts of this fishing village. Our lunch experience at club naval, which Angelo chose, was very special and to die for. A freshly grilled fish, simply superb. He even helped us plan our stay in the area and recommended places to eat where the locals go. Being with Angelo was like being with an old friend, so easy, so comfortable. This is a must-do in Ericeira! Cheers...
