Highlights
  • B 573 Sprague Lake Rd - This activity is perfect if you’re a snowshoeing beginner or prefer to snowshoe on gentle terrain while taking in the stunning lake, mountain, and forest views of Rocky Mountain National Park. Snowshoes, trekking poles, and hot drink are included in the price.

We’ll start with a 20 minute snowshoeing tutorial where we’ll show you how to use the gear and practice moving with it on. Please wear sturdy, waterproof hiking boots for snowshoeing. The 2 hours of snowshoeing will begin after the tutorial.

This snowshoeing activity takes us on a trail around the historic Sprague Lake and then through the peaceful, less traveled forest in Glacier Gorge whose rocks were cut by glaciers tens of thousands of years ago. The forest is filled with pristine pine and quaking aspen. It’s difficult not to feel a sense of calm and peace in this environment. You can enjoy incredible mountain views from Sprague Lake and the Glacier Gorge trail without the chaos of being on the popular trails.

Additional Information

This snowshoeing experience in Rocky Mountain National Park has been my most popular activity because it is for women who are snowshoeing for the first time or women who prefer to snowshoe on gentle, mostly flat terrain.

Snowshoes and trekking poles are provided along with a 20 minute tutorial on how to use the gear.

This activity is a nice mix of views ranging from sub-alpine lakes, forests, sweeping mountain views, and wildlife.
