A thought provoking experience - The Chapel of Bones, Evora Portugal is a truly unique and fascinating spot, unlike any other religious building you are likely to encounter. Imagine stepping into a small chapel, every surface intricately decorated with thousands of human bones and sculls. Sculls stare down from the vault above, femurs form arches and ribs line the walls crating a macabre yet oddly beautiful mosaic. Visiting the Chapel of Bones is a thought provoking experience. It’s a powerful reminder of our own mortality and encourages contemplation on life, death, and the eternal cycle of existence.

Centuries of history in this wonderful walled town - The town of Evora is a beautiful place with so much to see and do and some very unique experiences. The Chapel of Bones is both fascinating and a bit macabre too. In this town one can experience many centuries of history all within its walled perimeter. Highly recommended as a destination during a trip to Portugal.
