Safaga port to Luxor

Port Safaga - Our cruise staff will greet you at the exit of Safaga port. From there, you’ll embark on a comfortable journey to Luxor in a private air-conditioned car, which typically takes around 3 hours.

Temple of Karnak - Upon arrival, you’ll explore the Karnak temples, a magnificent complex featuring 22 temples. The Great Hypostyle Hall is particularly notable with its impressive 134 columns. Located near Luxor, Egypt, the Karnak Temple Complex, also known as the Karnak Open Air Museum, includes a vast array of ancient structures such as temples, chapels, pylons, and other buildings. Construction began under Senusret I during the Middle Kingdom and continued into the Ptolemaic period, with most surviving structures dating from the New Kingdom era.

Luxor Temple - Continue your exploration at Luxor Temple, which reflects Egypt’s diverse religious history, including Pharaonic, Christian, and Islamic influences. These two temples are connected by the grand Sphinx Avenue, which spans over 3 kilometers. Luxor Temple, located on the eastern bank of the Nile in what is now Luxor (ancient Thebes), dates back to around 1400 BCE. Known in Egyptian as ipet resyt, meaning “the southern sanctuary,” Luxor boasts numerous magnificent temples on both its eastern and western banks.

Luxor - You will then be transferred to your hotel in Luxor.

West Bank and back to Safaga Port

Valley of the Kings - After breakfast at the hotel, you’ll be picked up for a journey across the Nile to explore the West Bank, home to the famous Valley of the Kings. This sacred site contains over 62 tombs of kings from the New Kingdom era, dating back to 1550 BC. During your visit, you’ll have the chance to explore three of these remarkable tombs. The Valley of the Kings served as the burial ground for pharaohs and influential nobles of the New Kingdom for nearly 500 years, from the 16th to 11th century BC. Located on the west bank of the Nile, opposite modern Luxor, in the heart of the Theban Necropolis, the valley has two main areas: the East Valley, where most royal tombs are found, and the West Valley.

Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari - Discover the stunning Hatshepsut Temple, a marvel of modern design with three terraces. Also known as the Djeser-Djeseru, this ancient Egyptian mortuary temple in Upper Egypt was commissioned by the Eighteenth Dynasty pharaoh Hatshepsut. Nestled beneath the cliffs at Deir el-Bahari on the western bank of the Nile, near the Valley of the Kings, this temple is dedicated to Amun and Hatshepsut. Adjacent to the mortuary temple of Mentuhotep II, which served as both inspiration and quarry, the Hatshepsut Temple is revered as one of the “incomparable monuments of ancient Egypt.”

Colossi of Memnon - Visit the Colossi of Memnon, two massive statues of Amenhotep III, with the ruins of his temple visible behind them. The Colossi of Memnon (Arabic: el-Colossat or es-Salamat) are two enormous stone statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III, who reigned during the Eighteenth Dynasty. Since 1350 BCE, they have stood in the Theban Necropolis, west of the River Nile from modern Luxor.
