Highlights
  • Travel Tips Turkey - Meet your guide after your breakfast around 9AM.
  • Great Palace Mosaics Museum - Mosaics Museum is located at Historical Peninsula of Istanbul and contains numerous mosaics taken from the Palace of the Byzantine Emperors. The museum is one of the best museums in Istanbul.
  • Kucuk Ayasofya Camii (Church of the Saints Sergius and Bacchus) - Little Hagia Sophia (Küçük Ayasofya Camii), former Greek Orthodox church during the Byzantine period, currently functions as a mosque. It is one of the important Byzantine churches in Istanbul that were converted into mosques which are now museum. The original name of Little Hagia Sophia was “The Church of Saints Sergius and Bacchus” which was dedicated to two young saints: St. Sergius and St. Bacchus.
  • Sokollu Mehmet Pasha Mosque - Sokullu Pasa Mehmet Mosque, Mimar Sinan designed this mosque in 1571 at the height of his architectural career. Besides its architectural harmony, the mosque is unusual because the medrese is not a separate building but part of the mosque structure, built around the forecourt. The interior walls and mimber are decorated with spectacular red-and-blue Iznik tiles – some of the best ever made.
  • Kapali Carsi - Grand Covered Bazaar, most attractive shopping center and biggest “souk” in the world with nearly 4000 shops selling antiques, jewelry, gold, carpets, leatherware and souvenirs.

Lunch is at your own expense, but your guide can recommend an option to suit your tastes, budget, and dietary requirements from the myriad choices in Grand Bazaar and Suleymaniye area.

  • Suleymaniye Mosque - Suleymaniye Mosque, masterpiece of Sinan, the chief architect of the Ottoman Empire, built in the name of Suleyman The Magnificent during the 16th. century, considered as the best amongst the imperial mosques.
  • Misir Carsisi (Spice Market) - Spice Bazaar (Egyptian Bazaar): The air here is filled with the enticing aromas of cinnamon, caraway, saffron, mint, thyme and every other conceivable herb and spice.

Wonderful tour to get to see the other important mosques around istanbul 😍 - This tour was great! We got Gülce as our tour guide! She was very nice and cheerful, spoke very good english and was very patient with us during our day long walk around istanbul. It is a great tour to pair with another one of the usual hagia sophia/blue mosque tour. In this one, you get to visit the other great mosques around istanbul (sultanamet, mehmed pasha, st sergio and baccus) and also go to the grand bazaar and the egyptian bazaar. Gülce was very kind to take us other places (like a turkish rug store, to get coffee before the tour started) and even helped get better prices at the outdoor bazaar. Finished the day eating turkish delights and tea!

Great tour with a Great Guide - We did an Istanbul tour with my partner by directly contacting with Osman after my friends' recommendation. Although I am Turkish, I learned a lot of history, things I didn't know with our well knowledged guide Jasmin (in Turkish Yasemin) so did my partner Samuel. We would like to advise especially her if she is available. Hope to see her on our next trip to Turkey!
