Spend the night in a Berber desert camp in the middle of nowhere

Day 2: Merzouga – Tinghir, Dades

Tinerhir - Wake up early in the morning to watch the sun rising over the desert before breakfast. Your first stop of the day will be to Rissani, known for being the location of the mausoleum of the founder of the Alaouite Dynasty of Morocco.

Then, head to Tinghir on the route of the 1000 kasbahs, exploring the kasours and oases in the High Atlas mountain range. Take an hour to explore the Todgha River and admire this beautiful site and the canyons.

Before lunch, visit the Berber village of Azrou with your guide to discover their traditional lifestyle. In the afternoon, you’ll drive to the Dades Valley to visit one of the oldest kasbahs in the region. You’ll then be dropped off at your guest house or hotel in Dades.

Day 3: Dades – Kelaa Mgouna – Ouarzazate – Ait ben Haddou – Marrakech

Marrakech - After breakfast at your hotel, travel to Kelaa Mgouna in the Rose Valley, a famous rose plantation. Visit one of the rose growers’ cooperatives and discover how the workers mix distilled rose water to create scents.

Continue along the kasbahs to Ouarzazate, known as the “door of the Sahara”, often used as a filming location. Next you’re off to Kasbah Ait ben Haddou, a UNESCO-listed fortified village. Explore this beautiful site with your guide and learn more about its Moroccan earthen clay architecture.

In the afternoon, take the Tizi-n-Tichka pass through the Atlas Mountains, where Berbers have been living for centuries. You’ll arrive back in Marrakech in the late afternoon.

D Fez to Marrakech via Merzouga and Dades - The trip, three day private desert tour from Fes to Marrakech, was amazing. Despite a hiccup at the start on the first day - the van had a battery problem and we left late - we promptly recovered and the tour as a whole was unforgettable! The experience on a dromedary in the Erg Chabbi desert was beautiful - we also managed to try sandboarding - and the musical evening around the fire at Dario's camp was surprisingly evocative. Also priceless was the following day discovering the Berber villages between oases and gorges with the very nice and well-trained Said and the local guide Rachid! The facility on the second day (we were staying at the Hotel Babylon) was particularly beautiful - right next to the Dades Gorges - and we enjoyed one of the best dinners of our holiday in Morocco there. I would contact Ando Travel again if I were to return to Morocco!

AMAZING! - We booked a 3 day 2 night tour from ando travels from fes to Marrakech. Our driver, Abdo was an absolute pleasure who enhanced our Morocco experience 10fold!! The entire trip is well planned out with ample time for sightseeing, exploring and trying out traditional Moroccan food. He is very easy to talk to and extremely knowledgeable about Morocco’s history and culture. His friendly nature made it an enjoyable and interactive 8 hour car ride on our first day. We were two female friends on this trip and He is one of the safest, law abiding drivers I have ever come across! He told us what to expect on our journey in different areas of Morocco where the culture is different from USA and answered any questions we had. Abdo is extremely accommodating, polite, punctual and helped us with all our needs for our entire 3 days with him! He always made sure we had enough time to take pictures and stopped at different spots as often as we asked him to and never rushed us! By the end of day 1, Abdo’s warm personality made us feel like friends rather than tourists. Abdo is the driver you MUST request from Ando travels for an adventurous fun time in Morocco!!

Amazing - Abdo from Ando travel is an absolute gem, I honestly can’t tell you how much my friend and I lucked out by having him as our driver! From the time he came to pick us up to when he dropped us off would not have been as memorable as it was if it wasn’t for Abdo. Let me tell you- this guy really does whatever he can to make sure you are happy with the overall experience. He’s such a nice and fun guy- we shared many laughs along the way and when we had questions about travel after the tour, he helped us navigate all that as well. He’s probably done this tour about 100 times now and sitting in a car driving all these miles can’t be that thrilling, so we made it fun for all of us and I’m sure he appreciated it. Hope whomever gets him next can also do the same. Pros: Safe driver Helpful Fun Cons: There aren’t any Book this man in advance because once travel resumes to normal I’m 100% certain he’s gonna be hard to get.

Excellent Driver! - It was great to have Abdou as our driver over these last 3 days. Admittedly, I was a bit skeptical about all of the glowing reviews of the Ando travel drivers, because there were so many! After finishing the trip, however, I now resonate with the reviews I have read prior. Abdou is extremely humble, patient and caring. I really appreciated that he didn’t put pressure on us at all throughout the trip regarding how we spent our time or money despite the tight schedule, I also appreciated that he took time to understand each of the members of our group and our different cultures. Thank you for a great time in Morroco, Abdou!
