Additional Information

Our experienced guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel or Riad in the morning and take you on a journey through time.

We’ll start the tour by exploring the medina ramparts for two hours. Our first stop is Fes El Jadid, the 14th century section of the city. Here, you’ll see the Jewish quarter (Mellah), the synagogue or cemetery, and the famous gates of the royal palace.

Next, we’ll head to Borj Nord for a panoramic view of the city before visiting the pottery section, where you’ll see artisans creating beautiful mosaics and tiles.

After the outside tour, we’ll head to the old medina, Fes El Bali, the 9th century section of the city. Here, you’ll visit one of the famous Medersas (Quranic school) of the 14th century, the quaraouiyine university (the oldest university in the world), the seffarine (bronze) section, the Najjarine (Carpenters) Souk, the Nejjarine Fountain and Fondouk, and the mausoleum of Moulay Idriss II, the founder of Fez.

Guided tour of the city of Fez not to be missed - The visit to the 3 cities of Fez was very well organized. By car then on foot in the Medina where there is so much to see and discover. We learned a lot thanks to the very clear explanations of our guide Noureddine, very erudite, passionate about the history of his hometown and very friendly who we highly recommend. A must do!

Walking around the Medina - The explanation was easy to understand. Thank you very much! I was worried about going alone, so I'm glad I asked for a guide. I was able to see a lot of things in the Medina and get around efficiently. I highly recommend it if you're coming to Fez!!

Wonderful introduction to the medina - The Fes medina is so complex, busy, and sprawling, so having a guided tour made it so much more approachable for our family of four. The pacing was excellent, especially given we were walking with our two kids and one of our party has a disability. Loved the insights into history, culture, different trades and crafts.

The best medina tour, period. - This was simply a wonderful experience. Noureddine is very knowledgable about his home town and country and highly insightful about culture and history. He also speaks multiple languages and knows the medina like the back of his hand; in addition to the major historical and cultural sighs, you'll see hidden parts of the medina you'd never be able to see otherwise. If you are worried about tour guides hustling you, trying to get you shop, or anything like that--there was NONE of that here. Noureddine is patient, smart, and really just delightful.

Magical tornado on your senses - Without doubt you need a guide for Fes. Here is your guide to show though the Labyrinth that is the worlds biggest medina. I was advised to take the full day tour and yes you need it because soon into the tour you will know why, the medina and city walls are vast. In no time you will become disoriented by the thousands of streets and sights to behold. The tour takes you to the standard sights and many hidden ones and the guide is full of so many interesting stories and the 1200 year history of Fes. The highlight of the tour was the magical tea room which you must visit as it’s an experience to behold. Great experience with a fantastic guide 10/10
