Great Overview! - The Fez Medina is large and easy to get lost in, but friendly, don't worry, but an overview tour is a great way to begin

Great Adventures! - We were fortunate to have guided tours with Fez Sahara tours! Chlava knew everything and every one in the Medina and gave us a great adventure. The next day Aziz took us out to Volubilius and showed us the countryside and surrounding villages. Professional and personable - I just cannot recommend Fez Sahara enough !

Great tour of the Medina! - Aziz was a wonderful guide! He planned the perfect day for us in the Medina, and landed us in a charming riad to rest. All the pleasures of a beautiful, new experience without any of the stress.

Experience Fez Medina with no hastle - Communication via Trip advisor site to the company was quite poor prior to our trip, I had not wanted to telephone Morocco as it would have cost a fortune. Having said this our guide arrived at our hotel on time and provided us with a fantastic tour of the markets and streets of Fez. We were limited on time as we had a trin to catch in the afternoon, but our guide ensured that we were back at our hotel in plenty of time. The tor does of course include visiting the tanneries, carpet shops, Hamman etc where you may feel encouraged to buy something, however we did not feel hassled or forced at any point. We paid extra to have pick up and drop off back to our hotel which was outside the medina. This cost 50MAD each way (less than £10 total) totally worth it. Great value for money. Fez is a beautiful place and having visited Rabat and Marrakech I would say it was my favorite market experience. The experience was made so much easier with a guide to navigate the labyrinth of streets, I'm not sure I would have wanted to do this without one!!

The Only Way to Visit the Souks - We were very fortunate that our local guide--Hafid from KimKim Tours--grew up in Fez Medina and knew the souks like the back of his hand. He regaled us with stories of the historical background of the sights we were seeing. Our six-hour tour took us up and down narrow laneways as we visited souks specializing in textiles, pottery and mosaics, leather goods, metalwork, and all manner of spices. Our combination walking and chauffeur-driven tour included stops to see famous mosques, the Mellah (Jewish quarter) the Koranic school, the mausoleum of Fez founder Moulay Idriss. We visited the tanneries where ammonia-rich pidgeon poop and water is used to tan skins into butter-soft leather, the dried skins pounded soft in huge vats by men in rubber boots and saw 9-foot Agave plants whose silken fibers are woven into lovely textiles destined to become traditional Moroccan clothing, wall hangings, scarves and more. Whether your stay is short as was ours, or longer, a guided tour of Fez Medina is a great introduction to the city, and a way to identify additional activities to pursue. Absolutely worth the money!

Nice Cultural Tour, but you will get hustled to buy overpriced crap - The guide is a nice man and we learned a lot about the culture of Fez’s Médina. However, they need to be upfront about this being a “shopping tour” rather than a guided tour. The guide took us to at least 8 different shops where the owners would aggressively try to sell overpriced stuff; one instance, we (2 college kids) were taken to buy $700 carpets! I believe the guide gets a commission every time one of his tourists buys something. This seems to be the case on all tours. Also don’t listen to their food recommendation, you will get ripped off by subpar overpriced food that’s 4x the price of what it should be. If you don’t want to get hustled, take another tour.
