Ifrane - Our journey will commence in Fes and take us through Ifrane, a French-built winter ski resort from the 1930s modeled after a Swiss village.

Your drive will take you through the Middle Atlas Mountains, characterized by scenic winding roads through forests, springs, rocky terrain, and Berber villages. You will then descend towards the Sahara Desert after a full day of navigating the breathtaking Atlas Mountains.

Midelt - During your trip, you will make a stop for lunch in Midelt, a town renowned for its fossils and rocks. Midelt is located halfway to your destination. After lunch, you will continue your journey towards Merzouga along the road.

Ziz valley view - After lunch, you will continue your journey, crossing the Ziz River and passing by towering palm trees and fortified Kasbahs on your way to Erfoud.

Merzouga - Take a break to admire the breathtaking view of a massive palm tree oasis, then proceed to reach Merzouga in the afternoon. Upon arrival, you will be greeted with mint tea and your guide, who will introduce you to your camels. They will then lead you on a 1-hour camel ride across the picturesque sandy dunes of erg-Chebbi, where you will experience the breathtaking sunset. High yield tour of Morrocco for a first timer - We had an outstanding time. I was traveling with my wife and five children. Their ages range from 7 to 18 years. Our guide Dozi was very friendly and helpful throughout the tour. He advocated for us with the locals when we needed assistance with our luggage through the Medina at our drop off point for example. He also gave me one of his scarves to use in the desert to protect my face from wind and sand since I didn’t have one. The camel rides were amazing and just the right amount. There’s obviously a lot of time spent driving in order to cover the distance of the tour but it was broken up nicely with small excursions with local guides. We really enjoyed our accommodations in Fes at the Barcelo Fes Medina and I highly recommend. I would only provide the following feedback to the tour company: 1. More detailed itinerary. In addition, include recommended clothing and accessories for the environment. For example my 7 yo son rode a camel in the desert with sport shorts and shirt. He had a hard time when the wind blue and he was nailed with sand. I recommend long pants at the very least along with a traditional scarf from the region for head and neck region. And glasses/sunglasses. 2. Consider asking and explaining the Quad ATV option earlier in the tour and reference it in a more detailed itinerary. We rode camels to camp in the evening and then late at night were provided with the option to ride ATVs in the morning back to our pickup point for an additional fee. If I had more time to think about it and discuss with my wife we probably would have let our older teens ride them for an added experience. In the end, we loved the camels and have no real regrets. 3. Ensure dinner is available earlier. Dinner in the desert was not served to us until about 9:45 p.m. Not a big deal for most people, but families with small children often need to get the kids to bed earlier than that. We found out the following day that the neighboring luxury camp ate earlier around 8:00 p.m. It’s possible the camps are using the same cooks and they just can’t be in two places at once. We then got up early the following morning for a beautiful sunrise camel ride at 5:30 a.m.

It's in the title: Unforgettable (READ THIS REVIEW! :) ) - From the Saraha Desert to the Atlas Mountains, this tour is rich with knowledge and history, subliminal landscapes, and the Moroccan good humour that keeps negativity low and spirits high all day long. After being nervous about starting a tour that might be too staged or tourist trappy, I found myself amidst genuine interactions and connections with both the places and it's peoples. For example, watching a Saharan sunrise that made me cry (not because the sand was blowing in my eyes... bring sunglasses!) and learning about Berber culture and traditional carpet weaving from a Berber family over Berber whiskey (mint tea). Now I intentionally conclude this wordy but honest review with our tour guide, Fouad (Dozi): he's knowledgeable, kind, funny, and his big smile and good humour is contagious. Every word and laugh of his is made of pure passion. If you're reading this, do this tour. Chokuran, Dozi!

Stop thinking and just book it! - Definitely the best part of my trip to Morocco. The Merzouga desert is one of the most outstanding experiences I ever had. The other parts of the trip also offer a great and really immersive experience into Moroccan and Amazir culture. Our guide Imad was very professional, efficient and knowledgeable. He made the experience much more comfortable and rich with information about the tribes, the places and the culture of the places we visited. There was never a moment when we felt we were not in good hands, and the music was GREAT. If you’re traveling with Imad, please do not use your own playlist, let him show you the desert music that will be the perfect soundtrack. We stopped at places I didn’t even know existed and I’m certain the whole trip wouldn’t be the same without this experience. I traveled to quite a few places already but this experience definitely stands out as one of the best. Would highly recommend

Overall, we had a great... - Overall, we had a great experience with the people we travelled with and the sights in general. However, the tour guide didn't contribute much to that. We asked our tour guide beforehand on WhatsApp, how much water we should bring ourselves, and didn't get any reply, even though he separately asked if we could confirm we'd be at the meeting point (which was communicated wrongly to us by the way). After the tour started, we got minimal information about the places we visited, the itinerary wasn't communicated well and we even skipped some activities listed on the website (Midelt and the Atlas Film Studios). The lunch was average at best, manageable at worst, especially the vegetarian options, considering the very high prices we had to pay (100-120 DH per meal). The coffee breaks at desert rest stops took way longer than announced. The highlight for us was our stay at the Kasbah Tiziri in Khemis Dades on the second day, in sharp contrast to the rest of the tour, the food was amazing, our host enormously helpful, polite and full of interesting stories about the region. But as it only recently opened, and the hotels and restaurants the tours stops at seem to change periodically, it sadly might not be guaranteed that future tour groups stop at this amazing hotel. I can't make any negative remarks about our driver, he drove very competently and took us everywhere quickly and safely. All in all, the three days were a positive experience, but mostly because of the amazing people we travelled with and the hotel stay on the second night.
