The latter is the oldest walled part of Fez, founded by the Idrisid dynasty between 789 and 808 AD. Fez walking tour - We had a great tour with Mohamed, learned a lot about Fés, visited many historical sites, little handcraft workshops. Everyone is very friendly and not pushy. Highly recommended to book a tour, as Google maps is not very helpful in the medina, and also you'll learn a lot about this beautiful city.

Best Son of Fez - Muhamed is a son of Fez and like the city he is heartwarming and funny! Going through the busy streets, every now and then, he stops to greet a friendly face and you feel like the city is a big family and you are a part of it.
No question gets unanswered and if by any chance you manage to find a trickier topic Muhamed will make sure to circle it with an intelligent and funny comment.
I know “Best Fez Guide” sounds a lot but I challenge anyone to find a better one…

Great walking tour - Mohammed was very clear in his tour, he gave us time to buy food and souvenirs without feeling harrased. We felt safe and probably saved us a lot of getting lost! Beautiful cultural city with history.

Mohammed - Your Guide Extraordinaire! - Mohammed is a very knowledgeable guide who was able to give us background, history and insight into the Moroccan culture and particularly the Medina in Fes. He also brings with him a great sense of humor and patience. We especially appreciated his relationships with artisans we otherwise would not have met or engaged with-truely “opening up” our Fes experience.

Must do in Fes! - This is the tour you must do while visiting. You will learn and see it all during your time with Mohammed. He’s kind, knowledgeable, and basically a local celebrity. Everyone you pass will know him. I am beyond thrilled we did this and you won’t regret the decision, either 😊
