Highlights

Fez – Midelt – Erfoud – Erg Chebbi

Fes - Our adventure today to discover Morocco’s mystics and civilizations will begin by following the path of the Medieval Caravans to the Sahara’s gate. We will travel to Merzouga from Fez. The breathtaking picture of the middle Atlas rendered in cedar and pine trees will take your breath away.

Ifrane - Passing through Imouzzer and making a quick stop in the Swiss city of Ifrane, you will have the opportunity to see Morocco’s most important forest and witness Berber apes around Azrou.

Midelt - From the middle Atlas Mountains to the high Atlas Mountains, which reach a height of roughly 12,000 feet. We may have lunch at Midelt. This quaint village is surrounded by stunning natural scenery. It is well-known for producing high-quality apples. Lunch will be in one of the town’s typical restaurants, with our today’s entrée chosen from a stuffed Atlassi menu.

Merzouga - As we approach the Sahara and the vast Oasis of Taffilalet, the green mountainous environment will give way to a warmer one. We will take a short stopover in Erfoud to explore the region’s varied cultural heritage. Then, as our final visit in the desert, we’ll travel to Merzouga. When we arrive, a camel man will greet us with a pot of mint tea, just like his grandfathers did. Then he’ll lead us on the back of his camel caravan through the desert to a nomad camp. We will enjoy nomadic mythological dances and sleep under the Milky Way and Pole Stars at this camp.

Merzouga – Todra Gorges - Dades Gorge

Merzouga - You’ll get up early to watch the sun rise over the magnificent Merzouga dunes. This diverse show is fascinating. It imparts a sense of transcendence across time and place. It demonstrates the Sahara’s never-ending beauty. After breakfast, we’ll go to the magnificent Todgha cliffs. We will see Nomad villages scattered over the Atlas Mountains and surrounding the Oasis and Water sources on our journey to these mesmerising landforms. They rested contentedly, their minarets standing strong against the harsh desert elements and looking over them in a Father-like manner.

Gargantas del Todra - When we get in Todgha Gorges, we will be struck by their breathtaking height.

Dades Gorges - We will drive to the Dades Valley after lunch, where we will witness the spectacular sand castles and the amazing rock formations known as “monkey toes.” Then we’ll take in the splendour of the Kasbahs. Overnight will be spent in a hotel with a view of these immortal castles.

Dades Gorge – Ouarzazate – Marrakesh

Valley of the Roses - We’ll leave after a traditional breakfast for the mystical city of Marrakesh. Our first visit will be in Kalaat M’gouna, also known as “the Rose City,” to buy some rosewater. People in the area use it to make their linen smell nice.

Ouarzazate - Following that, we’ll take a little break in the picturesque city of Ouarzazate. Its gorgeous downtown Kasbahs will impress you.

Ait Ben Haddou - hen we’ll visit the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, Morocco’s largest Kasbah. Et Hami El Glaoui, the Kasbah’s creator, was one of the last Berber monarchs of the 19th century. He was one of the strongest men in the Kingdom at the time. His fame spread far and wide. His visitors included VIPs from all around the world. George Orwell was a frequent visitor. In this Kasbah, he used to entertain them. It is presently home to a large number of Glaoui people.

Marrakech - Our final stop will be in Marrakesh, where we will see the famed Jamai’ ElFna plaza. This square is a popular gathering place for locals and visitors looking for spicy street cuisine and entertainment. Overnight will be spent in a comfortable Riad/Hotel.

A magical tour with the only female driver around Morocco - I am a female solo traveler; I consulted several travel agencies to have a female driver during my stay in Morocco, until I found FEZ CULTURE TOURS. The team at Fez Culture Tours organised everything I needed, hotels, guides and answered all my questions. From Marrakech, through the High Atlas, the desert, the views on nature were splendid, the people were very welcoming. Arriving at Fez, Morocco's oldest city, it was just gorgeous. My female driver Nisrine was able to know all the places and she gave me all the information about each village we travelled through during our tour. I highly recommend this woman driver to feel comfortable when discovering Morocco. Thank you Nisrine for such a beautiful trip.

Very nice! - Nisrine was a superb tour guide. Even though we booked the tour only one day in advance, she organized everything perfectly and chose cool hotels to stay. We always felt very safe and she also fulfilled special requests (stopping at a beer store). We had a lot of interessting and funny conversations, but also she left room for private time of our group. I can really recommend. Merci beaucoup :)

Amazing trip with Hicham! - My husband and I had an amazing trip in large part to Hicham! He picked us up in Fez and drove us to the desert. We were in the desert for three nights then a night in Ait Ben Haddou on the way to Marrakech. Hicham was a great driver and guide made sure we were comfortable, safe, and only stopped at clean restrooms. His car was very comfortable and made it easy for my husband and me to shop freely knowing we had a van to keep things in. While we were on the road, Hicham made sure we ate at local places whenever possible and told us as to who was selling good stuff and who wasn’t. Hicham is very knowledgeable about his country, we traveled with a guidebook and he was happy to show us any place we wanted but was also happy to suggest places/activities anywhere our planning fell short. We came to feel like Hicham was family and we cannot recommend him enough.
